Can't beleive it's been so long since I updated this:o. As I said, fitted the Compbrake's back in the summer while it was off the road to fit the PAS pump but just realised there are no pics on here.
Not the best pictures but you get the idea!
Here's a couple of quick one's just before...
Nothing at the moment, would you believe I'm still running it in and only done 700 miles since April. Will put some video up as soon as I have her remapped and can use full throttle otherwise its a bit pointless as its only about 230bhp at the moment.
Had exactly the same issue with my 172 a few weeks ago by the sound of it, turned out to be the tensioner spring had streched about 1/2" and caused it to not tension properly- was only 500 miles old too:(. New tensioner assembly sorted it mate.
Pic just to confirm same problem?
Hope...
Literally just come in from finally getting it running again:approve:, rain has stopped play at the moment but just need to put the front bumper back on and take her out for the first time in 8 weeks!! Did lose interest for a while which is why I haven't updated anything but think I will fall in...
No updates i'm afraid, as Triki said she is still off the road as I just haven't got the time to work on it at the moment. Will get it sorted soon i'm sure then put her up for sale due to lack of use/time:dapprove:.
I was a master technician at Mercedes-Benz for over 9 years so have a pretty...
Yep, everything is the same, pully was removed from the old pump and fitted to the new one. That's why its driving me nuts because I just can't work out what I have done wrong! Will try loosening the torx bolt when I get a minute but if not the will have to strip it all down again:dapprove...
I need a bit of help here please, the pas pump let go last week on the 172t. Replaced the pump on Wednesday but now the belt tensioner is jammed up against the pas pulley/belt. The only thing changed was the pump itself, the pulley, belt and tensioner are all the same as came off so can't work...
Thanks everyone:D
New pump should be here Thursday so hopefully it will be back up and running next week. Whilst the car is off the road it has also given me a chance to fit the 4 pots and re-adjust the coilovers, Was sitting too low at the front but all sorted now. Next is a front end respray...
Videos may have to wait a bit longer, this is the current state of my car:dead:.
Not as bad as it looks, the PAS pump decided it didn't want to play anymore and let go big time! ended up driving 20 miles with fluid smeared all over the windscreen in the rain, and hoping the pump didn't...
Its been a long wait but got her back from ktec last week, still got to run the new engine in and only have low boost at the moment - about 10psi which should be around 230bhp but my god its fast. Cant wait for the remaing 600 miles to be complete so I can get everything re-mapped, boost...
Won't be daily use, tbh probably won't get used as much as I would like. Going to try and get a few track days in when I can but I don't get much time away from work at the moment
Been a while but at last she is finished as far as the work I can do for the time being and is now in K-tec's capable hands for the final mapping etc.
Finished engine bay:D
And finally on her way to K-tec. Only just left and already can't wait to get it back and drive it for the first...
Cut outs are 100% lined up, checked, double checked and even took it all off and started again. Every time the allen key point (B) endded up in that position to get points 6&7 to be aligned correctly. Don't think there will be any issues ( will be kept very quiet if there is now though:o lol)
Yes mate, 'sticky out bit' is in the correct slot, only one place it can go iirc. As far as the make, I haven't got a clue, kit was bought from Renault but may not be oe tensioner.
No, just sending the car down with one of the transport companys we use at work, will be going down a couple of weeks later to pick her up if you want to come down, think there will be a few of us going and tbh may need and extra pair of hands to push if I kill it on the way home!!
Good lad, would never have stayed standard anyway would it mate!
Hope you got deep pockets though, these things get bloody expensive, just don't tell Tracy:quiet:
Sorry guys, no pics as I forgot the camera todyay . However on the plus side, the car fired into life for the first time today. started first time but idle'd a bit high as it's still on the standard ECU until it goes to Ktec.
Got all the final bits sorted like fitting battery and box in the...
Same reason I didn't buy a cup, saved weight where I don't need it ( got a company car so don't need interior etc) but can have the things I did still want ie: a/c and xenon's. Car will mainly be used on the road so will still be able to kill evo's & m3's etc in retative comfort
Been a long time but finally pulled my finger out and decided I need to get this finished. Car is now booked in at ktec on Feb 4th for final mapping and tweeking so hopefully be on the road by March:D
Going over to check the car, fit battery and make sure its ready to go tomorrow, this will be...
Nearly, got to call Dave at ktec on Monday and arrange getting it down to him for mapping. Haven't even seen the car, let alone done anything to it for 7 weeks:o
