the rattle is most likely the front box not the cat. when i got mine not long ago there was rattling from that area at them revs, the guy i got it off had a garage look at it and thought it was the cat. when i got my cat back system the rattling went (the garage got it wrong!)

try eurocar parts and gsf cheaper than ebay for brake pads and discs. not to hard to change.

i changed mine about a month ago and i tryed eurocar parts first and they told me that they dont do them for the 172! then i went to halfords and couldnt get any there so ended getting them off of ebay! £12 for all four plugs sounds a realy good price to me.

as long as the spark plug sparks you are not ever gona be able to tell the difference! i would personaly go for the cheapest out of the two, just saw on ebay bosh delivered for £18

blue wire is a remote turn on (for your amp)

i had ngks in before i put the bosh in and you cant notice the difference, they are fine.

£15 PER PLUG from renault!!! I put bosh super 4 in mine £20 delivered from ebay. A guy at renault told me that ngk's are causing misfire in some 172's.

If i gat hold of 182 manifold, is it just a striaght swap for the 172 manifold, are any adapters/brackets/extentions etc needed???????? what are the permormance gains like, noticeable?????

if all that oil has gone there has got to be sighns of it under the car or somewhere, have a look (do the 182's have covers under the engine??) if they do it is likely to be caked in oil if there was a leak, if there arnt any sighns of oil i would say that the garage that serviced it for got to...

check for loose conections in your powerlead-at bat and at fuse. it could be your sub itself that is dodgy, but not very likely (happened to a mate)
