I have kent cams and pullys in my 19, only been on the road a couple of days though, but I cant say if they are any good as i have never driven a 19 with standard cams. Revs nicely though though and not too bad on tick over. £120 quid seems a good price, just aslong as there is no major wear to...
It might be because when we fitted the clio 172 box onto the valver lump we used a megane flywheel, using the normal valver starter motor is was making horrible noises from it, same when trying a couple of other valver starter motors. The mount is the same as the valver as far as i believe, well...
I picked my 172 box for 320 quid delivered from cit-ren in norfolk i believe they are.
Best option is to go for the phase 1 172 gearbox, its a mechanical speedo. They fit straight on to the valver lump might need to go for the 172 starter motor though.
Any news on prices for these two clutches? found the Sachs clutch to be a bit expensive, comes to just over 300 quid for a torsion damper sintered plate, which can only take 280 NM. But saying that its expensive working out pricing for all the 3 items on some internet companies its comes to just...

Are these any good?
I work in the IT department of the company, its only when i get time i can go find out but its my first day back from a two week holiday and was very hectic sorting things out. It would be easy just to say order that but if nobody knows im going to have to speak to the parts people and get them...
If you could find out prices on both and let me know that would be great.
Person who is doing the conversion said he can get the paddle clutches for around £200 ill find out tonight what clutch he is talking about there.
The reason for being sachs is i get them for cost price at my company. what sort of prices for the alcon and Helix, was looking at the Alcon ones and they seem very good and great for what im after.
I know sachs do paddle clutches, but im after the part number for one which will fit my 1.8 16v turbo which will take loads of torque. Do not want to pay for double plated clutch as these are a bit far out of my price range. Any help would be great, or if you have a suggested clutch which will...
Whats the spec on that to get that sort of power? And why he selling it so cheaply? If its running that sort of power the engine alone will be worth more than that.
I believe its a phase 1 gearbox im getting but its coming with a speedo sensor, made sure it has. Got it from Cit-ren coming down thursday so ill find out for sure then.
Its is BBPT R-Tuner Prgrammable ECU version 2. Setting it up on the road first of all but will more than likely get it rolling roaded sometime to see what sort of power its running at. Got myself the 172 gearbox on the way now, so just need to sort out a couple of more things. First of all was...
You got any more details on that? As i will be looking at changing the gear ratios this will be ideal time to get the gearbox fully strengthened. There is limited space in the 5 to get a gearbox in there, i believe the 172 box will just fit in but wont leave that much extra room to the side of...
Please name one which in standard form can take that sort of power and being front wheel drive? The best option would have been the renault 225 but that will not fit. The 172 is the only option really to go for in my case
How many miles have you run your car so far? Somebody put a 172 gearbox in a 5, running like 6psi, they have gone through a couple of gearboxes so far with the casing breaking. I guess its just with the luck of the draw how good the one you get is
oo dear, not looking good on the gearbox side, need to find a gearbox first though, ill sort out a wanted post, but they seem hard to come across, and just missed out on one in ebay becuase i wasn't checking everyday :(
When your talking about why not use the 2.0 bottom end, i guess from the...
Why would you sell that clio when its the best modded one out there. wouldn't it be cheaper to just sell yours with your engine in there and just transfer what parts you want over to the new one? It has the low comp conversion then, which sounds about right for that sort of power. Im just after...
9psi is there normal setup conversion, running about 200bhp they say, if you had all the works you should be looking at running a lot more psi than that. the full works basically their spec engine you can run in excess of 20psi. their basic conversion including fitting is jusy over 5k i think, a...
No troubles as far as ive heard, well i hope there isn't, im having same spec engine in my 5 as they have in theirs. 12.5k is that how much you paid for it?
Everything is pretty much done to the engine now and waiting to go in the car
Spec:
1.8 16v from a renault 19
Megane head, ported and polished with enlarged valves
Turbo Exhaust manifold constructed from a high nickel content
Samco silicon hoses
magnecor KV85 leads
2 1/2" side exit exhaust...
My car (renault 5 GT Turbo) is currently going under a major engine change, im putting in a Clio 16v lump and having a turbo conversion on it. I have been told that a clio 172 gearbox will fit in the car but is this going to be capable of having around 400bhp go through it or is it going to...
