I Just did this job, be careful not to pull the driveshaft out, as this is exactly what i did this week, it took me ages to put back together, with gearbox oil everywhere, and i thought a knackered gearbox, due to a whining noise. i thought the tripod had gone (the end of the driveshaft)...
Yes, thanks guys, looks like its going to rain today so I dont think ill be looking at it today, can wait to see if there are any other opinions. thanks
It doesnt seem to have actually stopped working and the noise is not particularly loud, when driven on jacks... should i take it all apart and see what has happened to the tripod then? Is there a way of telling whether the tripod has collapsed, turning the wheel etc? Is the tripod alone...

Hi all and a happy new year.
My backbox fell off the other day, which was annoying. I have decided as the standard exhaust will cost 150 ish just for a back box then it is time to get one stainless that actually lasts. I like the standard fuel economy and I dont mind a little more volume but...

Hi, I need the definitive line on my 172 ph1 shift light, its driving me mad. I see the damn logo, but cant get it to light up when turning the key, even if i press the right hand computer stalk button, so i dont know if it works. Shall i just burn it to the limiter or is there another way...
Hi, on here most people think that a decat is one of the most important mods to make to your clio, is this true?
If so what is the easiest way to do it and how do you get the old MOT?
How many ponies will this give me and will it change fuel consumption?
Thanks
Hi, my clio has the standard 172 wheels with pilot exaltos. Is a 16" wheel better suited to the car handling wise, because at the moment i quite like the little wheel look it has now. thanks
