Hi There (hope this is in the right section)
I need to know the location of the ECU in the 197, I think it might be to the right of the battery, just under the right hand air intake pipe but I'm not too sure. I'd have a look at my car but it's somewhere else right now so can't have a look...
The engine in your car must be terrible then as it's even less powerful.
I can recommend the RS Tuning remap, have had it on my car now for ages and gives it that low down torque it should've had from the factory to make town driving a far more pleasant experience!
Annoyingly, yet luckily the right hand side of my drivers seat has 'come off' so to speak, which means the fabric isn't tight and seems to give it a nice amount of give so that it doesn't fray! 22000 miles done in the car now which is a lot more than other people have done before fraying...
Sadly not mine is at Camden having a new gearbox fitted! I did see a used black one for sale there though when I dropped mine off so could have been that.
Keep us updated on how you get on with them, been interested in getting some but have been waiting for someone else to take the plunge to see what they're like :p
Got a few mods in the pipeline for my 197, first is being made and fitted next month and hopefully the other will be out in a few...
Went on my second track day yesterday in my 197, fantastic time, very impressed with the clio's performance, not impressed with a certain other car (or rather driver) but that'll cause a fight so I'll refrain for now :p
Before yesterday I was considering coilovers and the quaife diff for my car...
I've got the 'Semi Tailored' mats from Halfords, £40 and fit perfectly as they do a set for the Clio III, I've only really got one picture and doesn't show em that well:
Presume you're on here (saw a little decal on the side too, renegade or something?) saw you earlier about 20 to 5, looked very nice and a damn site cleaner than my 197 :p
Yeah it works fine, bought mine from Canada whilst on holiay earlier this year, they have universal PSUs so can just stick a UK kettle lead in the back and it'll work fine, will also work perfectly well on your HDTV. The only downside is being region 1/region A is that you'll only be able to...
I did have this and was a sign of my box on it's way out...however you can sort of keep it ticking over by pressing Services then 4, 0, 1 and select then you choose the planner rebuild. Takes a few mins, then the box reboots and all should be well!
Don't spose anyone got one of me on the track? Seemed to be on when most people were leaving (around 4.15pm and 4.50), was the black 197 being driven badly :p
Feelings are the same with mine, racked up 11.5k miles now and is getting looser and runs really nicely, I really like the exhaust note at around 2.5-3.5k when around town too..niiiice.
Going in for it's first service next week before it gets thrashed round castle combe on Rallyday!
Only rattle I have with mine is with the seatbelt height adjuster, vibrates ever so slightly, but can't notice it on the move/radio on, only a very little niggle mind!
Well this'll probably end up doing more bad than good, but it's time for some 197 loving ;)
Obviously isn't as quick as some peoples cars but just wanted to show that it isn't the gutless wonder some people are making it out to be...
Yep get it on mine, I presume it's because of the huge brakes on the front and the (in comparison) weak brakes on the back. Can become a bit unnerving if you aren't prepared for it!
