Hello folks,
After a couple of months of owning my new car I want to get away from just doing a quick wash and dry with a towel and actually give my car a proper clean. So I'm looking for basic advice/opinions for a beginner on which products/kit etc. Without spending hundred of my hard earned...
Im guessing this means the two pipes under the bottle that go through the bulkhead?
If it is, would usually mean an air lock at the heater matrix one pipe is the feed and one is the return
looking through these posts and spotting things like,
1 - the heating not being red hot
2 - one pipe hot the other pipe not so hot
that would lead me to suggest there is an airlock within the cooling system.
I would run the car for a while till it heats up and check how hot all the cooling...
From the Vosa guide i posted the link to
" Dazzle can also be caused if the lamps are dirty or aimed too high due to, for example, carrying rear seat passengers and/or heavy items in the boot. Vehicles with HID headlamps are therefore required to have a headlamp washing system (a wiper is not...
IIRC I'm sure your car is illegal, the reason xenons use auto-adjustment is so when say people are in the back of the car it obvioulsy lowers the car at the back making the lights at the front point higher up than normal, this is usually fixed by the level sensor on the rear axle which senses...
Random question but, has anyone ever had the fire wall behind the engine catch fire?
Basically to cut a story short was towing a car earlier, had to tow it less than a mile back to my house but on the way back smoke started coming from under the bonnet, stopped and had a look and the smoke was...
Make sure the two tangs (highlighted in red) are loacted properly into the grooves cut out on the side of the block, if not this will cause the tensioner to be moving about.
i raced one at crail 1/4 mile 3 times a couple of years ago now in my £75 mk3 astra with £200 redtop stuck in it and beat it 3 times. Guy wasn't best pleased. Think my best time was 15.35s, Sure i have a video of it somewhere
Changing my brake fluid today and could not for the life of me get a good peddle. Anyway finally traced it to the servo leaking due to being rusty anyone here ever changed one. Can it be done with the engine in place? Any help/advice is appreciated.

have you checked the pistons in the calipers are free, could be a seized/seizing caliper, un bolt the caliper from the carrier ask someone to push the pedal with little pressure and see if the piston moves out (careful not to make it pop right out), then push it back in. if its seized repeat...
Hold the button in on the end of the wiper stalk and turn on the ignition this will make all the lights come on on the instrument panel, look and see if the speedo is moving
if it isn't your probably going to have to take it all back out and check the clocks
It really depends on your budget what kind of tyre you can get, the new euro tyre rating chart should help, it lists fuel efficency a to g rating, wet weather rating a to g (a=best g=worst) and road noise level in decibels.
Have a look on http://www.blackcircles.com it lists them for all tyres...
As above does anyone have any pictures of a ph2 172 with standard 172 alloys and spacers. Want to try and get a set of spacers to fill out the arches a bit, was thinking 15mm front and 10mm rear. Car is also lowered on apex just now (40mm i think) but debating with myself about getting a set of...
you can solder the wires yeah, or another option is go to a breakers and find a good connector cut it and solder it in place then that way if you ever have to take the seats out you can just unplug it
