My Cooper S on a MY53 plate was a shocker and only the instant power and tug from the supercharger made up for it. I went through thrust bearings and a clutch in mine... Shocking and before you say well it's because you can't drive I never had a single issue in my 182, nor my Elise 111R and now...
If you've not taken the Clio out for a good run this be a good opportunity.
Reading other posts I got to thinking how fast will u be going to loose pace with the others if your going on a country side blast.
Call me old (or annoyed after nearly getting run over today cycling) but if u...
Tbh my Z4MC seems better on fuel than the latest generation of RS clios.... Which is shocking considering my 182 was great in that respect.
So in consideration get a Z4M will be nearly as quick as your old EVO and wont get school boy attention which my 182 seemed to attract
Re: Car Has been Wrote off again!
TBH looking at the damage then at the type of area the car was in it is hard on the face of it to belive that much damage resulted from only going 20mph.
Also how did the other car miss you if you were only doing 20mph? Surely the police would ask what speed...
Echoing peoples comments and that from someone who said they'll notch it down to a bit of fun.... Fecktards.....
They didnt even pull the handbrake to get the back to get round (not that it would at those speeds)
Best bit was his mates getting excited as they could hear his s**t exhaust...
Think the issue is that i'm being honest and saying upfront i'm not looking to buy today etc not an age thing.
Anyway 200's are growing on me more and more but saying that my Elise was perfect for a blast today in the hills around Edinburgh....
Wow hang on lads right it wasn't pay £100 for a test drive but an implied we'll only take you serious if your happy to sit for an hour to work out a deal then secure that by paying a nominal amount (£100).
But yer f**king joke imo
Ok went across to the other Edinburgh dealer and much much better facilities.
Had a red non cup car at 17.5 and a black cup demo for 17 both with Recaro seats and not much else spec wise.
So all good so far.. however here comes the BUT - apparently Arnold Clark have a policy whereby i...
Because if their salesmanship is poor god only knows what the service guys are going to be like especially if you need to get things corrected after collecting your 15k+ car.
Thanks for the advice so far
I was either going for a ride tomorrow at Glentress or taking a drive up that way in the Elise so might check it out. Looking on autotrader there isnt much really north of Newcastle? There's two over in Glasgow but the kit on the cars is really poor.
Thanks guys, yer it was a new to 12 month old used car i was after.
It was Sighthill who told me they were a RS centre now..... i also live in Portsmouth who ARE a RS centre so was expecting much more to clamber over and poke at.
Unfortunately the 'RS' dealer in Edinburgh only has 1 twingo in and 1 225 Megane..... no 200's?
wtf?
Apparently a lad has just bought the only 200 they had and wont be getting another for 10 days.......... what made me laugh was i was blunt (tbh) with the salesmen and said i didnt want to...
hmm yer i think my head might win out on this one and i'll get a sub 5k rb 182 and stick in 1k refreshing the usual stuff that goes wrong post 40k miles and that will give me a smile whilst allowing me to take my bikes out.
I might be thinking of selling my 111R Elise and going back a rb 182 or any kind of 197 and getting it painted in nibus grey (battle ship grey), coilovers and spacers.
I've kind of had enough of not having the practicalities of a hatch back with not much more power and no where to really make...
Really its not undeserved and yes down to personal preference but how can a few stripes compare to the complete butchering of what is an ugly duckling anyway...
I've got a storm grey S2 and really like the colour...... (read dont love it).
Why.... well in my heart i wanted a Krypton Green or Yellow Sapphire Exige so a grey elise was a bit different. HOWEVER i use mine daily and i honestly think if i had a bright coloured lotus i wouldn't be able to...
Urm let me think.
It might be that a 4 year old (if the salesmen near me are anything to go by) didnt communicate to the owner that he was going to do more than go round the car to assess the overal condition.
Just maybe it is a insulting part ex price and he didnt try to find out what the...
Depends really.
It depends on the model of Elise or VX220 variant.
I've moved up to a 111R as for power delivery its probably the most similar.
I wont talk about the benefits as it is obviously a better drivers car and a better experience. But it isn't markably better all round and for...
I loved the 172 / 182 when it came out, gawped at a 197 at silverstone when i saw one for the first time and now have laughed out loud and grinned at some kid in a 200 in Edinburgh.
Does no one else think they have taken inspiration from a platypus duck beak at the front.
Just Ugly and its...
