Slicks will put extra stress on the car as mentioned, though unless the water is standing on the track you should be ok if it rains. I've done many many laps in the wet with them on the M3.
It will be cheaper to run a cooling duct to the brakes than change the wheels, unless this is a little man maths justification. I did this to another car of mine thats quite heavy and it made a noticable difference.
Thats what I thought, I believe its on its way out though hence the question.
Anything but putting your foot in th carpet it has hesitation/ suttering, and is getting slowly worse. Now i've been chasing my tail with this car with various issues since I picked it up. The coil pack/ HT leads/...
Hi,
Am i right in thinking that the 172 ph2 fuel pump/ filter (in tank) is one unit as opposed to the ph1 with the external filter?
If so, or not the case, what is the reliability of the pumps in general? The car has 67k '02.
Again price wise to replace, is it worth a direct replacement...
When coming off the accelerator? It's only just started on the way home, also the suspension seems amiss and 'floaty'. Could this be an engine mount?
Cheers
Hi,
Had the system recharged and when the AC is on now it only pushes out hot air, any ideas?
For reference the system was completely empty as a hose was split when I bought it, so have no idea what it was like previously.
regards
Some tracks/ organisers will insist on a cage if running slicks, so be aware. We had this issue arise a few years ago with the M3 track car that was taken too the track half way through being converted. And like others have said, bushes take a lot more abuse.
Interesting and some decent times posted here. I've never done a day at the drag strip, would be interesting to see what times I could achieve between my cars and see what the power/ traction issues bring with:
330bhp/ton (AD08's?)
256bhp/ton (with its slicks should be good?)
And the clio at...
Hi,
Can anyone help as I'm away from the car for a while but know I need a battery when I get back. Can someone let me know what CCA are required please, and/ or what have you been using?
For a 172.
Cheers
As said run a tap down them, stop trying to get them to fit as you'll more than likely have them pick up, then your limited knowledge will have you needing more work done. An M8 tap (a #2 or #3, either will be fine) is only a few quid from the likes of Machine Mart and you will have them sorted...
What details do you want? It's a V8 to answer the first question, it's running a vortech V3 SC with water/ meth injection when needed. It will light the rears up in 4th in the dry if provoked and goes like stink for a barge.
They'll handle pretty much anything you can throw at them in a clio. I have them on an M5 that puts around 600 at the wheels and they are more than capable on that. Enjoy them bud.
Or you can buy x2 150mm (legs) 90deg aluminium bends, maybe a 100mm straight incase extra length is required somewhere, x1 100mm straight hose (cut in half) and a filter all 70mm plumbing. Get someone to weld the pipes for you at the required angle. This will be enough to get the filter in the...
Hi,
What price would I be looking at for a full set of springs (standard) for a ph2 172. The car I'm looking at has lowered ones and thats not what I want and would prefer to have it back to normal/ standard ride height.
Also, any recommendations on where to get them from, or are they a dealer...
