Just in case anyone finds this thread, the solution for me to make it 100% silent was on the link below:

@frayz
NMB Bearing is in and to say I'm over the moon would be a total understatement.
Nick @Pms has said there is a possibility the PTFE lined bearing may stiffen over time, but it only took 40 mins to swap so if i have to buy another in a years time so be it.
To have the shifter totally...
The hunter alignment itself is also only as good as the person operating the hunter machine... I have personally had very different results from a variety of garages using hunter machines.
I'm not saying its wrong, but they need to properly know what they are doing or it could be false readings.
NMB/Minebea bearing just arrived @frayz
Interestingly you mentioned your PTFE bearing couldn't hardly be moved by hand however this one is relatively easy/smooth to move the ball around.
I think i will still try to remove the preload with a press anyway as i don't really want to be faffing...
A couple of links for you to look at who are doing similar:
3D printed Turbo fans:

Not 3D printed, but maybe easier to produce:

Well they do have both non-branded and NMB bearings so i guess it could have been either.
I'm hoping it was an early non branded one where he preloading hadn't been removed.
I'm going to try an NMB and release the preloading first to free up the movement a little.
Hopefully it makes an...
I agree with the above to a certain degree, I've fitted several motorsport shifters to previous cars and while none have vibrated quite as much as the PMS. They have all had their own resonance so I also call the #becauseracecar a little flaky.
You can try several things to quieten the PMS down...
where are the mud flaps from ?
I think i would go silver too, I have anthracite 2118 on a flame red and quite like them, but Silver with the Turini's if it was my car.
@perazzi
part number for the pivot boot is : 8200136186
For anyone else interested .... After day 2 of driving the shifter is 100% silent... I couldn't detect any noise at all in 45 miles of driving at various speeds today.
For anyone that finds this useful - My RATTLE seems to be solved.
Filled front selector Gaiter with Heavy Grease
Fitted OEM pivot boot to PMS pivot and filled with grease
Filled Rod with 0.3-1.6mm Lead shot (Approx 1-1.5kg)
Method below:
Remove selector / Boot and clean
Get boots ready...
@perazzi Thanks for he offer, but typically I've just ordered a bag of mixed shot online and its been dispatched apparently
I was thinking of seeing if i can stretch the additional boot (pic below) from the OEM shifter over the PMS bearing joint as well and filling that with grease...
@perazzi Whats the method for this lead shot and do you have a link to where to buy some ?
I'm guessing its just a case of removing he link rod and pouring the lead shot down the tube till it's full ?
I've bought some heavy grease to pack out the gaiter so may as well give the shot a go while...
Just to echo the OP’s comments about this solution from @PhillipM
I can’t compare to other Poly mounts, but I had fitted in around 40mins and it’s a huge improvement over my stock dogbone mount with very minimal vibrations afterward.

Fitted a new set of Cup Dampers and Grams springs Kit from Kam Racing last night and the car felt quite hard, so upon inspection when it was back on the ground it was sitting on both the front and rear bumps stops.
So, 30mm trimmed from both front and rear and i now have suspension travel...
So this is my thinking, I will likely end up replacing shocks, springs, bushes etc anyway, so am i better to buy as good condition low mileage and well maintained 172 and save the premium for a 172CUP/182 and spend on the parts that will inevitably need replacing.
It does seem its slim...
I currently have a 330ci which I'm going to be selling to buy a Clio with a view to trying my hand a few sprints and hill climbs next year.
I'm thinking it should fetch around £3-3.5k so that will be the rough budget. The clio will also double up as my daily car to drive to work it needs to be...
