    Happy 100k!

I'm nearly at 100k too. Is there already a "who's got the highest mileage clio" thread? *goes for a search...*

    PH1 VS P2?!

They both look cool in black! There are lots of non-looks reasons to consider between phases... I bought a ph1 RS because it was cheaper - to buy (older), to tax (old system, rather than emissions based), and very very slightly cheaper on fuel (lighter car, longer gearbox - but really depends...

    Water inside the car...

Do I win? Definately rain water. Door seals all look very good. Have removed scuttle panels (removing the passenger wiper arm was hard work, even with a puller tool). Both side drains (into the wheel arch) were fine, but there was a collection of water in the middle. I used a bamboo cane to poke...

    Demand Five TV - Problems

I get a weird symptom where the audio is fine, but the video only shows 1 frame every 5 seconds or so. Very annoying. BBC iPlayer is sooooo much better by comparison.

where do you go for cambelt, aux major service?

Can you really do the belts yourself? Engine bay looks pretty tight! Guess there must be threads on this somewhere... [off for a search...]

Mk2 Ph1: Will the rear seats fold flat?

Thanks - no catch or anything to release? I did give them a gentle tug before - but was worried I might break something!

Mk2 Ph1: Will the rear seats fold flat?

No joke - will the rear seats in my phase 1 clio 172 fold completely flat?! The seat backs obviously fold down (with a 60/40 split), but I'm not sure if the squabs (bit you sit on) should lift up (like they did in all the other hatchbacks i've ever owned) to make a totally flat loading area...

    MOT'd Today

Yep - fairly confident (although happy to be proved wrong by someone)! A fail is a fail - probably a good reason to leave it as late as possible! The main advantage of testing up to a month early is that the new certificate will run for up to 13 months. [I now realise that this mini-moan has...

Any way to get around the BT £125 reconnection fee?

I avoided the connection charge by signing up with a different phone line rental provider (Bulldog). I think Bulldog got bought by Tiscali - so I think they offer the same services now. I pay £20 a month for phone line rental (normally £10.50 per month with BT!) and unlimited broadband - seems...

    MOT'd Today

On the subject of early MOTs... It is no longer the case that you can MOT "early" and give yourself a few weeks to get the car sorted. As soon as it fails an MOT, any current MOT becomes invalid. Without an MOT you are breaking the law (unless travelling to or from a booked MOT test) and...

    MPG 182

I almost did buy it for the fuel economy! If I was only worried about performance, and not practicality or economy, then I would be driving something else! By comparison, I wonder what MPG people get out of the 1.2 clio...

    MPG 182

Average is about 36mpg, but can get more on long runs, or less if I drive like a loon! Ktec exhaust and ITG panel filter (I think - previous owner mods). I bought a ph1 for the relative economy! Obv cheaper to buy because older, but also longer gearbox (therefore lower revs on the motorway) and...

    water in footwell

I have exactly this problem - water collecting in the passenger footwell (carpet is very damp). Coolant level seems fine, and door seals look ok. I've purchased a tool to remove the wiper arms - will check the scuttle later.
