Cheers guys, was the information I was looking for! :)
I've not much idea when it comes to repairs but did think it was quite damaged but wanted to check.
Hope I'm posting this in the correct section of the forum? :)
The other day while driving round a bend on track I lost the back, spun and hit a concrete wall - rear right hand side (drivers’ side). Bent the tailgate, broke the lights, and pushed the side in to the car a bit.
Anywho, today...
I've read this a couple of other times on here, but I don't really understand why ferodo make pads that don't fit? :S
I'm thinking of getting some but am a little put off by the thought of having to 'file' down brake pads to fit! :)
With a lot of fiddling and shere luck! :D
I didn't think you could get to it from the wheel arch, sounds like an easier was to access it... but as is the case with me I seem to pick the most difficult way of doing things! Especially if I'd have found that bolt head before trying to clamp the...
Good news! After a few hours of swearing, and with some help from my brother, I managed to remove the old upper gear box mount! Fitting the new one took some time to, trying to get a spanner in the gap in between the gearbox and the mount was a right pain.
Upper engine mount though, very easy...
Cheers for the advice guys! I'll have a root around in the shed for something to grip the mount with. Was thinking about drilling a couple of holes through the metal on the top of the rubber mount, then put a bit of metal in to it to hold on to!
I did try some mole grips yesterday but they...
Just spent 1 1/2 hours trying to undo the centre nut of the upper gearbox mount.
Each time I turned the spanner the rubber moves  How do you stop the rubber moving?
Even if I could hold the rubber from moving would the centre bolt move, do I need to stop that from moving to?
Cheers :D
Did this on mine today... what a pain in the a**e! The larger rubber part was quite easy to get out but the small one took ages in the end used a large hammer and a screwdriver. Haven't swarn that much for ages!
Anywho, done now! :approve: Although now I can hear something rattling...
I am a little tempted to get the k-tec mounts, might leave it a bit though to save!
I had a look on the powerflex website, didn't realise there were so many bushes! :S I wonder if any of them need changing...

Just ordered these:

Is it worth changing any other mounts? The top engine one was changed on mine about a year ago as it was broken!
I watched Dave this morning and there was a bit about Premium petrol and the differences. In a normal engine designed for 95 RON the premium petrol did nothing to the performance. However, when they did the same test on a golf GTI, apparently recommended 98RON) it had better BHP with the...
Welcome!
Reminds me when I frist got my Clio, had a massive grin everytime I put my foot down.
It's great on track to, talking of which I've booked the RenaultSport one at Silverstone in Aug! :D Can't wait!
I converted the standard car radio last night to white LEDs! The only thing is they look a bit too bright. I tried to use a bit of paper to dim them down but the buttons now have a slight yellow tint to them. :(
Got a new tensioner on the car now, with a new belt and it's fine!! :O) The belt that was on it was not in good shape and it was only a few weeks old! Amazing what happens when the tensioner doesn't work properly. It must have been the tensioner because the mechanic was complaining how hard...
So all I would need is this:
http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=2685
and some kind of tool to undo those odd bolts, something like this:

Then just...
I'm starting to wonder about the mechanic I use! Any mechanics in Woking? :O)
Is it a quick and easy thing to change, the tensioner that is? Are they expensive? Do I need a reno one??
I had a look under the bonet earlier today and the very bottom pully I can move with my fingers!! Actually...
Does this sound possible?
A month or so ago I was driving to work and while on a dual carrage way in the outside lane my car temp gauge hit the limit and lights come on. I pulled over quite quickly and called the AA. The bloke who came thought it was the themostat so he poked it out, so to...
