    Cambelt gone....

2003 52 plate Danith - I doubt there is a way, the steering went and I should've just pulled over but kept driving thinking there was no way the loss of power steering would wreck the engine!

    Cambelt gone....

I think so and I don't wanna take the risk that they find something else when fixing it. Even if I stick a new engine in for say £800, I'm gonna take it straight to a dealer an part ex it for probably £1500...might as well take £500-600 for it and save the hassle. Just spoke the garage...

It did run well and bar the points I mentioned there was nothing else wrong with it...best colour, low mileage etc Been great fun for five years but prob could've run a 911 for less! Bloody French surrender monkey of a car this one

    Cambelt gone....

I'm not in the middle of nowhere, I was talking about when it last broke down on my way to Newquay. RAC towed it to local garage in a little village in Devon. There's plenty round here and I've used them but I'm more interested in whether it's worth fixing. Had a couple of offers for it as is...

    Cambelt gone....

Last time a sensor went on the power steering hose, pump seized, aux belt came off and took the cambelt with it....some joker charged me £1600 to fix it but put an oil seal in the wrong way round! Broke again on my way down to Newquay for a holiday and cost another £800 to put right - middle of...

    Broken alternator pulley

I think it's free wheeling. The garage that said they might be able to match it also said it isn't a massive risk to drive it...it's been making a noise for about six months though so I've probably already pushed my luck with it. Sounds like I'm going to have to pay out £350!

    Broken alternator pulley

Hi, Anyone know if the alternator pulley on a ph2 172 can be replaced without needing a whole new alternator? I know Renault don't supply it but wondered if a Citroen/Peugeot part would match? I'm trying to drive it as little as possible (in case it goes and takes the cambelt with it) but...
