My mistake - Supplying dealer was in Cornwall (P***** (cant remember) but first services were at Kings.
The replacement car made it and back without hitch :D
Paul

Manney youre correct its been down that way all its life....was supplied by Kings of Taunton. I bought it from Backwell, North Somerset.

This is the new one. As you can see its in nice original...
All isnt lost......the car will be sorted for the summer.....
Ive just got back from collecting num 0317 - a completely standard, unmolested, well cared for Williams from a 50+ owner......so thats the new german excursion wagon.......
Paul
Yeah we actually managed to get it idling/running perfectly.....Idling was lumpy, but perfectly usable at 900 rpm. Revs rose and fell nicely....then this f***** pulley broke and that was that.........
Im going to look at a replacement car tonight, then I will decide what to do with this...
Bad news Im afraid.
One of the Kent Cams vernier pullies broke this morning, bending 8 inlet valves........the engine had run less than an hour......
Paul
Cheers people.
Been quite a slog actually this car - wasnt looked after at all well in its previous owners hands.....
Im fairly confident now it will be ready for Sat!
Paul
I dont know......left it all too late as usual, gonna be some late nights this week.......

Hi again all,
This evening has seen quite a bit of frustration on the Williams front - replacing all the ball joints at the front turned into the usual nightmare (rusted to buggery) - now having to change both the tracking arms as well - I borrowed the removal tool from Renault....and upon...
I suddenly thought the engine will need a bit of running in - but that ofcourse can be done on the way!!!
Its all been left a bit late but atleast I can walk into Renault and order parts that will at latest turn up in 2 days time......unlike other Marques(Lotus/Vauxhall......cough!)
Paul
No Ive never restored anything before......a Clio Williams is a pretty worthy candidate for a resto though I think.
Once its finished, I will document in one (very) long post everything thats been done to the car......
Its due to be finished 2 weeks today all being well - that gives me a few...
Here are a couple more pictures....engine being prepared to be rebuilt, and a couple of pics of the wheels, with new centre caps in (purchased from Renault) - this shows what a good match the colour is on the refurbished wheels.

The bodywork was done by Berkshire Bodyshop. The guy to speak to is Andy, theyre number is 01635 550665 - tell him Paul Mitchell (Clio Williams) recommended them.

Cheers Illusion (sorry Ive forgotten your name mate already!)
The engine is currently stripped to component parts - not in particularly good condition (appears to have had a belt break before), but being freshened up with new bearings/rings etc as well as a fast road head built......
Pics to...
I want it finished by a few days before we go to Germany so I can check/test everything.....engine being stripped/checked/painted etc now - well starting it tomorrow....:D
Full re-spray was a grand in the end which included some parts which needed to be replaced. On close inspection the paint...
Pics as promised.
