I had a brief go in the colchester demo today and I actually thought it was a pretty good car. It actually would suit me quite well as I am in the market for a 5dr hot hatch. I didn't mind the fact it looks pretty similar to a 1.2, it went well, handled nicely and was easy to drive quickly...
I've not had any problems like this with mine. However, the heater thing is a known issue I think caused by water sitting in the bottom of the front clam, it's a clam off job to fix but it's do-able.
No, he's been perma-banned - frank/ronin doesn't take criticism very well and has been known to be a bit 'abrupt' to anyone who might have a different opinion to him. He's on pistonheads and exiges.com (and lotustalk too I think).
AO48s for me - so probably won't move much till April! Need to buy some jump leads...
Won't bother with the wife's astra either. Winter tyres make no difference to my commute, I get the train and one flake of snow basically brings the system grinding to a halt.
The TDO will probably have arranged for a photographer to be there. He will take 30 or so pictures of your car during the day and you pay him between £20 and £40 if you want to buy them. Enjoy. Remember you aren't racing anyone...
I almost ordered a 200 last year at the time the cheap PCP deal. Had a long test drive in one, 200, black, gt spoiler, cup chassis, black speedlines, tinted rear windows. It would've gone on the track, so I definitely wanted the cup chassis (but personally, I wouldn't have it if I have no plans...
Thanks for the offer, very kind and I'd love to take you up on it. But it's 1.5 hours each way for me from north london to the track (and that's on a clear early morning run) so I won't be able to make it.
However, now I know who you are (I've seen you on a few days I've done previously)...
Lucky you, I go 3 or 4 times a year and then a few other places on top - so I suppose you didn't mind the over booking and not getting on track till 10am! Hopefully off to Donnington at end of month (with ET again...) assuming I can get the holiday from work.
I don't think the orange NA exige...
I was there on Saturday with the grey megane, so all of those are yours? Had a good look over the 172, looked nicely sorted - I'd lose the stickers personally though. Was more impressed with your exige though! I had a passenger ride in the orange NA one that was there and it made me want one...
This was going to be a second car, so starting with no NCB. Needless to say, the 250 is under 800 a year. The point is that the horrific number of chavs buying and crashing these cars means that insurance costs are disproportionately expensive.
Bah, I've lost interest. The cheapest insurance I could get on the car was over 2k! How do 19 year olds afford these cars?
As a comparison, I stuck exactly the same details as I used for this car into confused.com, but with a Lotus Exige S worth £22k as the car to be insured - and the cheapest...

Having seen how the botton has dropped out of 182s since I sold mine last year, I fancy buying another and using it as a track car for the summer.
This seems an ideal candidate and it's been up for sale for at least two months. Has anyone been to...
For the person posting about a comparson with the 182 - I'm not a driving god, and I've only done the Bedford GT track thus far in both cars, but it's ridiculous how much faster the 250 is compared to the 182. Bigger, heavier and less fun in my opinion, but it is so, so easy to drive fast, has...
Re: Any recommended garages near home counties?
They're usually very busy and it takes Tom a while to respond to things, but I'm sure he'll contact you, especially when he sees this thread.
I've been looking at these for the past month, and there's one up on pistonheads that keeps on catching my eye. Azure blue, 99 T, 54k miles and less than 8k. I'm seriously tempted, the problem is that I'm not sure how it will cope living outside on my drive over the winter months. If I had a...
Do a search, there's a million threads...
I had ds2500s and brembo hc discs. Did loads of track days on them. Well worth the money, which is why they're the standard answer on here.
I never bothered with changing the brake hoses.
I think the personal insult is unnecessary; but I'm not going to bother with this. I genuinely don't understand how you can contemplate spending £100 + on a vinyl wrap, several hundred quid on a new (unnecessary) exhaust, and yet won't spend £2 more on the recommended fuel for the car...
No I can read just fine thanks, but I don't understand. 40 litres of v-power will cost about £2 more than 40 litres of standard. Isn't a new exhaust is several hundred quid?
