Does anyone know this car?

Having seen how the botton has dropped out of 182s since I sold mine last year, I fancy buying another and using it as a track car for the summer.

This seems an ideal candidate and it's been up for sale for at least two months. Has anyone been to look at it or generally know the car? Are the belts done?

Bah, I've lost interest. The cheapest insurance I could get on the car was over 2k! How do 19 year olds afford these cars?

As a comparison, I stuck exactly the same details as I used for this car into confused.com, but with a Lotus Exige S worth £22k as the car to be insured - and the cheapest quote came out as just over £1k (and I know I can go to a specialist and get it much cheaper than that!).

I havent :( I feel left out.

My renewal is £735 on a 20 y/o Golf, really needing something newer but anything newer just seems to bump the insurance up over 1.5k. And Im 22 with 4 years ncb ffs.

Invalid insurance I think, but also for young drivers NCB is very important! Being on your old mans insurance means you won't have any at all and won't be gaining any either. Pointless IMO

I'm 20, 2 years no claims and my insurance is only 1000 :/ That's just me on full comp.
Don't see how all your insurance are so high :/

Half of you must live in the ghetto to have quotes like you do.

I think I paid £550 for mine last year fully comp at 24 with full ncb.

I paid £1700 when I was 20 with 2 yrs no claims but the car was worth nigh on 10k then.

The area where you live is MASSIVELY influential on the cost of your insurance.
I'm 21 and paid £790 for my insurance.

This was going to be a second car, so starting with no NCB. Needless to say, the 250 is under 800 a year. The point is that the horrific number of chavs buying and crashing these cars means that insurance costs are disproportionately expensive.
