*laugsh* Ben, 2nd in this thread... ;) When I first launched the idea (both here and in a couple of other forums) I got a lot of the change code thing ;) So I guess I was generalising... My apologies for the exaggeration ;)

*laughs* Sounds like my car - I went into the dealership 2 weeks ago with a A4 page of new faults to add to the ones that have either
a) Not been fixed
b) have recurred
c) Been fixed - but should never have happened.
From a quality point of view I regret paying $36K for that car...
For the umpteeth time I dont want to change the code in the ECU... I want to extract data out of the ECU, ie sensor values, load, temperatures, throttle position, vehicle speed, rpm etc.
And as of last night I managed to do it. Im still working on getting a continuous flow of info out of the...
Well according to stuff Ive been reading lately its an EOBD compliant interface - and that means the gear i have shoudl in theory talk to it. depending on the interface type (ie protocol it uses)...
That can be determined by the wiring pinout of the connector. So if anyone has a wiring...

I tried to convince myself that the Clio would be the first car I referred to as being male, but no characterwise she is definately female. I dont think Cliopatra is grumpy with me about the confusion but who knows for sure!

I recently did a 1000km trip up the Australian coast, spent about 2 hours traffic hopping on the main hgighway with a Holden VU SS Ute (think 5.7L 225kw v8 motor). We would pull out of a line of cars at 90kph, go flat to the floor up to 160-180kph then tuck back into the line of cars. There...

I use paint doctor on the fine scratches with very good results. Especially when followed with a good clear coat prep/cleaner and final wax layer or two.
GirlRacer,
Those ones in the catalog, page 112, are they the ones described in the Renault Section as "R-310" for the "Black" and "R-300" for the Clear?
They show up in my catalog as being #21.99 each...
Im not looking for a chip to boost power - Im lookin for a data logger type device.
BTW I have had some experience with the PowerChip people, in Australia they have in the past advertised chips and gains for cars theyve never actually had a chip for.
Ofcourse that may have changed but I...
Just curious if anyone has used something like the gear from www.o2.com to do some datalogging and stuff on their car.
Ive used that kind of gear on my previous car to great effect - its very handy for working out what to mod and how mods are affecting performance.
But I cant even find...
Dont be too concerned - my problems are mostly fixed.
The main irritation is the door trims and window channel being replaced becuase they werent screened out by quality control in the factory for the very poor fit/finish (and are on backorder).
The cold start stall in the morning is an...
Anyone used that stick on dash trim highlights (carbon, aluminium etc etc) on their car?
Anyone know where I can see pics of it installed in a Mk2 172?
Or even a website I can buy it from (I found a german company but would prefer using a english language website)
*grins* I can tell you about the 13 items I had listed for looking at and/or fixing at the 1000km service if you like.
None of them detract from the cars ability merely the ability for the maker to screw them together properly.
Overall Id say my Chryslers (1997 and 2000) were better off...
