Depends really on how low you go, lots of people go for 35-45 mm lowering springs and have no problems on standard shocks and dampers. If you want to go lower there's still plenty of people that have used standard shocks but if it were me I'd get a kit that has new ones in.

Depends how you want to install them, once you've got the lights and loom you can just wire a switch through the battery and cut a hole for it in the panel to the right of the steering wheel (with headlight angle adjuster). Unless you have a steering wheel stalk?
If I remember rightly the inner one at the back of the seat is hidden by the exhaust heat shield. There's a hole in the heat shield though for access to the the bolt
