Seems like it was a simple alignment job. I reckon my pre-delivery check wasn't done. I had it aligned as a first attempt to fix but it seems the guy who did it (same organization as my dealer) didn't do too good a job... I had concluded there was something more afoot because that alignment...
Just a quick update for anyone interested.
I got sorted out! A proper techy person came to the dealership, took the car out and has now aligned it for me. Looks like it was a fairly simple problem after all but took quite a few visits to sort out. In fairness, Renault have been good about it...

It's happening at steady speeds. If I take my hands off the wheel it starts to bear left.

Got the alignment sorted on the car by my local dealer and it looks like the settings are the same for the 197 and 200 - I'm basing this on the printout that says the model is "Renault Clio III RS/Sport" with no specific mention of "197", "200" or model year.
Good call! After I posted I suddenly thought to call Renault directly. Seems they are chasing a dealer for me. If I make a random other call as you suggest I might be able to get some confirmation. I will post back if I manage to get an answer.

I have a 2010 200 with the cup chassis option. The alignment's a bit off and my local dealer hasn't been able to sort it. There's another local place comes recommended to me but they don't know the correct settings for the 200.
Can anyone tell me the alignment settings...
