Probably more like two years. Just noticed an email notification..
I got on pretty well, I think taking the badge off without breaking the pins was probably the hardest task. I didn't have any fibreglass filler, so filling over the holes was a little fiddly as the filler seeps through, but...
Old post I know but thought I'd put forward my opinion..
If its the horrible loud click noise it could be pin/bolt holding the checkstrap (bar that holds the door when you open it). Sometimes if they break people replace them with any random nut and bolt, and if you watch it as you open the...
Has anyone removed the diamond off the front of their mark two phase one before..? I want to debadge, but it requires filling the indentation and I just wondered whether it was hard work, worth doing and whether it looks as good as it does on photoshop..?
Does anyone know about the 182 twin exhausts for the smaller end of the clio range? At the moment I've just got a straight through decat with your average rudeboy backbox which is ridiculously loud, was wondering how it will sound with the 182 style exhaust from K-tec.
Well I suppose I will get the correct shocks eventually, if I'm replacing the shocks might aswell get the most out of them, saves me paying for everything in one chunk!
Problem is I've got 17"s on it at the moment and can barely get your finger between the tyre and wheel arch, so will have to...
My mark two phase one is currently lowered 40mm on the original shockers, does anyone know if I could lower them 60mm with the original shockers or would they bottom out?
I know someone who lowered 60mm with original shocks and it seemed fine, not sure whether he just got lucky?
I'm not a fan of the Megane's at all, I just don't think anything comes close to the V6, its just an insane car, whether it drives well or not, or how fast it is (or isn't), its awesome!
I myself will own a V6 one day (;
It would be cheaper to buy a 172/182 anyway, I'd have to spend a lot of money to get my 1.2 anywhere near your 172s! And a 1.2 will never look as good as a 172/182! Unless you spend £1200 getting a widearched V6 bodykit (y)
Your really contradicting yourself?
You said a 1.2 will take a 30bhp increase, as will an rs. Then you said you can't re-map to 105bhp, you will fail hard. Now your saying you can't increase by 30bhp?
We'll have to agree to disagree, I wouldn't do it to my 1.2 because I'd rather put the money towards my next car, and I don't think its a good idea, and you think its fine, so you can re-map your 1.2 up by 30brake, and I'll keep mine as it is (;
Ahh right well like I said I'm clueless with electricals, I'll ask him for the part number, I told him to take it back anyway because its a pretty terrible headunit if you can't use a sub with it!
Ha by all means tune a car, but you need some foundation, a 1.2 clio is not a good foundation for car tuning, if you've got a 172 upwards then fair play go mad! Every car has its limits sunshine!
What so road vehicles aren't built for performance? Your saying an R1 is not built for a performance?
I'm not saying they won't take a power increase, but the point I'm trying to argue is that its just not good for the engine, your saying a 1.2 will take a 30brake increase, before it starts...
Yeah thats what I thought, but theres nothing, I told him to take it back because hes got the reciept, but I wanted to check that 4x50w meant 4 preouts?
Yeahh but theres nothing on the back? Should it have? It has writing engraved on it saying left, right, sub, or something like that, but theres no wires or anything, not even got a hole drilled out if the back..
I know next to nothing about car audio, if a headunit says 4x50w on the front, does that mean 4 pre-outs?
My mate has a sony headunit, and it says 4x50w on the front but there are no pre-outs on the back? theres writing on the back saying where they should be but nothing there?
But its just not good for an engine that small to be running more power than it should, I'm not saying you CAN'T get better performance out of it, but the engine won' last long!
Renault give their cars adequate power, so that they can do their job and last as long as possible, so giving it...
Yes but nine out of ten people service their car every year, so there was a good chance that being its third service, it was under five years, which it is!
Well obviously it matters but I meant if its only its 3rd service, one would assume its not older than five years, so you'd go on the mileage..
I obviously wasn't clear enough!
Performance wise theres nothing you can really do to a 1200, without risking the health of your engine, tuning an engine that small is not something I'd recommend, the only way you'd get any drastic increase in power/performance is by pushing the engine past its limits, like re-mapping! If...
