Here's the original thread about the trackday, and a list of attendees.

It's a bit of a long shot, but does anyone have on either disc or hard drive the original pictures from the August 11th Renaultsport trackday at Cadwell?
I have the pictures i'm looking for on my laptop, but they're too small a file size to be enlarged for printing (circa 100kb)
What i'm...
Hi Guy's, i'm after the Car detailing, can anyone recommend me anyone that could do it with the next few weeks or so?
Guy i've used before might have called it a day, as his phone just rings :S
Ideally someone who doesn't mind traveling, i'm in Sheffield close to junction 30 of the M1
Thanks
500bhp in the original Mk Indy chassis is asking too much,
Unless he spends money on the diff it will be flat out at around 120-130mph, yeah it will get there really quick, but when it comes to a corner it will struggle. I've had one of the original indy chassis and you could see it flexing on...
Not a chance of getting 700bhp out of that, the stock turbo's would need replacing as would a load of other parts, the most you'll get on the stock turbos with a remap is about 510bhp, with a few more mods you can get it up to around 550bhp, but that's about your lot.
You must be confusing it...
Re: NW Rolling Road meet @ RS Tuning
Daz with 30 cars this will no doubt run from early doors until late afternoon, are you giving out rough time slots for those that pay the deposit?
As you may know mine's 4wd so it's not really worth turning up at 9am if i'll be running at 4pm, wouldn't mind...
Re: NW Rolling Road meet @ RS Tuning
Tempted by this, i need to get the car on the rollers, just to make sure it's running ok, they can be sensitive to faulty sensors reducing the output by up to 100bhp or more.
Non Clio's ok for this Daz?
Nice work Steve, So what is the traction like with 370+ BHP and FWD
Having been in the car when it was around the 250bhp mark i'm sure it's a right little pocket rocket now ;)
I need to get the Rs6 on the rollers at some point, let me know the next time your going too RS and i'll pop up for a...
Too many variables, tyre specification, slip angles, sidewall structure etc, X negative camber might work well with one tyre and terrible with the next, let alone toe and castor settings.
Best bet is have a play about and decide for yourself, i ended up running just under 3 degrees negative...
It's not a new thing for 2010, the Ast's i bought over 12 months ago had the machined parts fitted.
The spring rates will depend on your preferences, Curtis spec'd mine originally for a loose rear end (the car's) where as i prefered a more stable rear, so the rear spring rate was reduced. i...
Hi Tony, how have you and Mr Burp got on with your 1st year racing the clio? :)
As for the RS6, awesome car speed wise, you don't have to press too hard on the loud pedal to be doing the wrong side of twice the speed limit, although running 510bhp and 550ftlb's helps a little
It was...
Hi everyone,
1st time i've been on here for nearly a year :quiet:
Tried asking on the clio trophy forum, but no one knew anything, so does anyone on here know what happened to my old Trophy, did the project get completed?
As for what i've been up to for the last year, well as some of you...
Got a bit of footage of your car Nathan, not the best, but it's when you went a bit deep in to "mansfield"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKCkHeqy1iA
1st time out for me in the car, only started building it at the end of may, hit a few teething problems, one of which was far too soft springs...
It depends on the RR used.
Some are able to calulate the losses on the coast down, others just use a calculation as input by the technician.
Ones that rely on a calculation are only any good for wheel horse power, the ones that measure coast down are more accurate for flywheel figures...
Pretty easy job to do, just get a pair of stilsons on the inner joint and loosen, then when you refit, use some strong thread lock and tighten. 10 minute job once the rack's on the bench.
Appologies for the high quality picture ;)
But this is a picture of a standard 1*2 sport power steering rack (Bottom)
and a dci rack fitted with tie rods and track rod ends from a ps rack (Top)
Other than the dci rack only requiring 2 bolts to fit it, and the p/s rack 4 they're now...
just get a dci rack and fit the track rods and track rod ends from your power steering rack.
It'll will be the right length then and manual with similar turns lock to lock as the power steering racks.
Dan it's your choice it's your money ;)
me personally i couldn't stop at just a charger conversion, i'd want to sort the dampers, fit an lsd and after market management to start with. So 4k turns in to 7-8k
But you'll never lose all that money, if you stuck a used s/c conversion up in...
Yeah cleaned the calipers the same way, i removed the piston but it i didn't need to, as the solution does no harm to rubber, so you could put them in complete, for peace of mind though if i did then i'd replace the seal anyway.
Get yourself a bucket a piece of steel a bag of soda crystals and...
Cheers Fred, i'll be in a rush on monday otherwise i would have taken you up on that offer, if you can do it thursday/friday next week let me know. Infact i should see you at Oulton on Tuesday shouldn't I, we can sort out a suitable time then.
Chris
I agree Pss10's would have probably been the better choice, but due to the discount i managed to get on these, the pss10's would also have been £1500 more :eek:
Chris
As some may know i've been waiting on these dampers for a while, well they finally turned up :D
Pics are in the project thread http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?p=6092342#post6092342
I was offered a box for £1200, still waiting for a date to collect it ;)
6K is too much for a 2nd hand box, at 3k there could be a bigger market, you can get one built to spec by quaiffe for not much more than that (6-7k).
The dampers have finally arrived, and that's not all :D I also got a call to say the shell's ready to be collected, so Monday i'll be picking it up from Birmingham and dropping off at the bodyshop, so if things go to plan it should be white and back in my garage by sometime the week after next...
Waitey you've misunderstood my post, the comment was referring to the claim that the torque figure is wrong, in which case so is the bhp figure, you can't have one right and one wrong.
As for lower bhp and high torque, you'll struggle to acheive this with a N/A 1*2 unless you've a problem.
Tony, there's just one bolt to undo on the shell, it's on the bracket to stop the door opening too much, and then remove the clips of the door pins and drive the pins out, be careful though as the door with glass etc weighs close to 30kg's, catching it while holding a punch and and an hammer can...
