amazes me how many people cant do a basic oil change them selves, i do everything on my cars unless i need a press for example then i go to a garage i worked for, they allow me to use there stuff free
im at uni doing motorsport engineering :rasp:
and did some work with a race team that did alot with lotus's
but i have a low post count so my knowledge is invaild
put new shoes in, might be contaminated,
hers was grinding a tiny bit first time she used the brakes today but then it soon disappeared, she will have to live with it untill the weather gets better and i cba to fit new shoes,
i hate drum brakes
9 hour shift does things to my head...
i took it out got to 50ish and slammed on the brakes a few times and it cleared up must have corroded abit due to her lack of heavy braking and me taking them off last week,
think its rear as front disk/pads look fresh and no grooves on disk
how ever when the gf breaks the rear drums seem to grind, i have removed the drum there is deffinetl 3mm of shoe material left, i sprayed them with break cleaner re assembled it and it was fine for two days now its grinding...
best way of achieving this?
can only get a replacement as part of the drum from renault for £200
i dont want to brake it and have to spent that much
any advice ?
cheers
