    Bargain Clio for someone

I know its the wrong forum but its worth mentioning on here. I am selling my beloved Clio (as advertised in the For Sale forum) and for a quick sale, I have reduced it. Its a cracking little motor but circumstances are forcing a replacement and Id rather it went to someone on here than a...

    Self radiating aerials

Im sure I read that Road Angel do an aerial but its about £80?? Ive got my mobile phone aerial in the clear bit of the windscreen and that was only £15 but I presume this would be different to GPS.

    WHAT SUB

I agree Grant and thats very similar to my set up. Ive got a 4 channel Rockford amp under my seat (punch 400a4), 2 channels of which are bridged to my JL 12W3 and it sounds the absolute nuts.

What amp and sub/s for 700 quid

Hello mate, Dont know the nodels you mentioned but if it were me (and Im going to keep this purposefully vague in terms of exact models), I think Id go for a Genesis amp (beautiful, British made, great SQ). The subs are trickier - 2x10 or 1x12. Ive always had a single 12, in a Beetle, an...

IMPORTANT - How 2 Brake Properly!!!

I know this is off topic but Id just like to say, this is one of the most sensible, responsible and interesting posts I have read on here for a long time. Im not ruling out all the other good stuff that is on here still and the hardcore of contributors that make this site so successful, but...

Market research :) how about a six speed box...

Sounds interesting Joe. Might be an obvious question, but would they be set to still have enough legs to cruise comfortably at m/way speeds? Like the idea of six speeds to get around the somewhat awkward mid ratios of the 172 but I do a lot of m/way miles too so would need tractability...

    WHAT SUB

Listen to a couple mate. When I got mine, the shops were more than happy to let me have a listen. I already had the amp and stuff in so was just waiting for the sub. I tried several including Cerwin Vega, Pioneer, RF, and I settled on my JL. They are great speakers but it depends what you...

    wire trouble

Be nice if it were that simple mate. Stick two speakers facing each other, correctly wired up and play some music. Now reverse the connections on one of them. Sh1t - wheres the sound gone? Theyre out of phase - screwed up sound.

    wire trouble

Not true. Speakers will make a noise if wired either way but it wont be how it should. When they get a bass note the cone should kick forward (sending the sound forward), if wired the wrong way, the cone will kick backwards and youll still here it but the sound will be wrong. Also, if you...

    Earth lead for Amp

Its for safety as much as protecting your equipment. Think what a fuse does - its lower current to blow safely if ever there is a short. If the earth cable is not capable of carrying a high current, it will become one very long fuse wire. OK extreme example but it could happen.
