Ph2 172 Body control unit replacement

Thanks a lot for that @clio tyres . Pity I didn’t know that when the auto elec was here today as I’d have had him whip it out so I could send it off for repair. Any tips on removing myself or best to get the elec back? Thanks again

Ph2 172 Body control unit replacement

Hi I have a slight electrical drain from the Body Control Unit on my 2004 172. Auto elec says it’s on back order at 240+vat (+ fitting) and additionally tells me it must be a brand-new one as they can’t be reused, and must have two keys (which I do have). I’ve noticed a couple of preowned...

    Parts discontinued by Renault

Just off with Renparts who said people normally get them fabricated themselves nowadays. Wouldn’t have a clue where to start with that... just take the old one to some local hose fabricator? I’m in south Manchester in case anyone has some pointers

    172 Cat - where's the code?

Just dropped it off at scrapcatalysts.co.uk in Manchester for an instant payment of 163 by bacs. Nice guys would recommend them. They said the price of Palladium is high at the moment and petrol cats have gone up (diesel down). Anyway thanks for the help all.

    172 Cat - where's the code?

Just had a quote £163 (collected I think). Result! That'll almost pay for the used OEM replacement I bought from Renparts the other week.

    172 Cat - where's the code?

Hi I am wanting to sell my OEM 172 cat to a scrappy but they want me to confirm the cat's "code" number. They said it should be somewhere on the outside but i can't find it (there's a LOT of surface corrosion). Please can someone help me with where to look? ideally a photo as I'll try and...

New Owner 172 - bit concerned.....

Thanks Imprezaworks (I will drop in and see them early next week). I am thinking if it's a gearbox issue then the dealer should put it right, but if clutch I'm guessing it will come down to me to sort under "wear and tear". Please can you briefly tell me why it's obviously clutch related? Thanks...

New Owner 172 - bit concerned.....

Hello all Just bought a 172 from a small dealer. 80k 1 owner, some history feels nice and tight. Don't have evidence of recent enough belt etc so plan was to get her to Birchdown for a major service and also to tell me what needs doing to get the car fully freshened up. However I have noticed...

182 with Cup Pack vs 172 Cup - relative ride quality?

182 with Cup Pack vs 172 Cup - relative ride quality?

Seriously all - thanks for all your helpful replies. Trophy - tempting, and my mate said the very same thing but not sure how restrictive those Recaro's would be getting kids in and out and that trick suspension sounds potentially expensive if it needs fixing / replacing. It sounds like the...

182 with Cup Pack vs 172 Cup - relative ride quality?

Hi Looking to buy a 182 with Cup pack I think, but would really appreciate your thoughts... My mate has a 172 cup - absolutely love it. I have a Mini Cooper S (latest model) currently and the Cup is so much more controlled it's staggering. I was expecting the ride to jar and for it to be a...
