Thank you @Josh i'll start having a look.
I've got a birthday coming up so might be able to get a few items from that.
Is an exhaust system worth looking at? @Josh @tomhunt85 ? I'm not too interested in it for a noise reason more if it is going to be worth the return for the money.
So 172 cup front struts - straight fit
182 cup rear struts - straight fit
Sorted
Think i will have a look and see what i can find. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for the comments. Are the shocks a straight swap for the standard ones on a ph1?
Might pop in some new rear pads as they were a bit down already.
I've heard the ARB is pretty good so think that will be on the list.
I've got a ph1 clio that i picked up as a shed for a bargain.
I've just done a track day a Cadwell park (yesterday) and really enjoyed it. Now the bug has bitten me i want to try and improve the car a bit for the next track day.
The car is completely standard apart from stripping out the rear...
Just had a read through from the start and am very impressed.
Just a question.........the wheels you have in the picture below.....are they off of a 205 GTI? If so, do they bolt straight on?
I have a spare set at home, and they looked like they'd fit but wasn't sure.
Cheers

Also, looking at the first few posts, most of those photos were taken at RAF Upwood.....is that a regular meet or something? Would be REALLY handy if it was as I live in the old officers quaters on the other side of the road.....
Oh crap, this guy is only about 10 miles away from me!
Thank you for the heads up guys, I won't be doing a search again looking for local suppliers to get bits from.....
The 205gtidrivers.com forum have attached themselves to a dedicated Peugeot parts and cars for sale website called www.pugsforsale.co.uk this is designed to be a separate section that holds all of the parts/cars for sale instead of staying on the main forum.
It's only just taking off so at the...
Short term I have just stuck it on a website site linked with the 205 owners forum called www.pugsforsale.co.uk
Advert will hopefully be on this forum very soon, once I get my membership sorted out.
And that will let me post in the for sale threads?? Sorted....
I'll sign up when I get home from work tonight.....keep your eyes peeled then over the next few days for a little red pug up for sale.
Plus as I am keeping the Clio, it will help me buy bits for it and get some technical...
Yep that is what I am thinking.
Just need to find a buyer for the pug. I'm a fairly new poster on here, Detailing World and on the 205 GTi owners forum, so I'm not able yet to start a topic in the for sale threads.
Don't really fancy eBay as you never know who will win it and the games they...
Thank you everyone for the comments and advice
I've not quite got enough posts on here yet to be able to add a topic in the cars for sale section, but I will get there soon.
Shame as it is just sat in the garage doing nothing.
Thank you to everyone for their replies and comments but I think I am going to sell the Pug and track the Clio.
If anyone is interested in the Pug please PM me.
Cheers
Dave
I'm swinging towards the Clio to be honest, due to ease of tuning and knowing the history.......
I think the pug is worth about £1k ish, so that is a fairly good amount of money to throw at the Clio to get me started. Should get a few bits off my list if I shop around and use eBay and here I think.
The plan for the Clio was going to be;
strip out the interior
Bucket seat
Rear cage
182 manifold
Matched inlets
Better discs and pads all round
15 inch wheels with sticky tyres
Set of coilovers
Decent exhaust
And maybe look at the espace air filter box with a better filter in it.
So all...
That is what I thought originally and had a bit of plan in my head of what to do.....but then watched fifth gear the other day, and saw the Pug1off 205 Gti Vikki Butler-Henderson was running around a track in.
Granted, they charge £2k+ to put a "basically brand new" GTI6 lump in (then you've...
That was my other thought.....do I sell them both and buy something like a cup that might of had a bit of money spent on the mods.
Only problem with that is we know the history of our current 172 so well.
Hi everyone,
I wanted to just get some peoples thoughts on this topic.
The idea
Have a nice little track car (not a money pit racing type) that I can do 4-5 track days a year in and have a bit of fun in on the country roads around where we live:).
Let me give you some history;
I have a...
Afternoon girls and guys,
Just a quick intro. I'm new to the forum and am currently swapping from my Peugeot Gti project (which is up for sale if anyone is interested? Not finished but a good start for someone:quiet:) into a '02 Clio 172 track day project.
I live in Cambridgeshire so have a...
