well ive a hill power chip on my williams engine along with full exhaust and air filter, and its been rolling roaded at three different places including john nobles (jan 2002) and every place said that it was spot on and was a good engine.
it produced mailto:173bhp@fly">173bhp@fly so ive no...
my car is a 19 16v but im running a williams engine, mines been rolling roaded with and with out the de-cat and it made 9bhp difference. This is with an air filter and chip both times.
i did it myself, or should i say had it done when the 1.8 went bang! on the road it is a beast so much faster than as standard and drives a lot better with the low down torque.
in terms of speed when it was standard i struggled to keep close to my mates vts but now i can overtake comfortably...
any help you could give me would be appreciated.
i am thinking of getting one as a daily runabout so what are they like on fuel economy? any specific problems that i should look for when buying? any other useful tips would also be appreciated.
cheers phil

Looks good, although in my experience saxo speedos are quite optimistic compared to renault. my mates saxo vts reads about 5mph more then mine at about 105, well i passed him and my clock read 105 and he said his was about 110!! (on private ground of course;)).

my mates vts (air filter, exhaust) when i raced it an my 19 16v(air filter, exhaust,chip(b4 the willy engine)) was quicker by about 1 maybe 1.5 car lengths to 100. so i would think that a clio 16v being lighter and faster than the 19 would be pretty evenly matched!!
But theres only one way to...

yep thats my 19 with 136bhp ATW although i am running a williams engine:) the guy who was running the cars was quite impressed with the engine as well. Made about 112lb/ft of torque as well almost constant from about 2500rpm to 6800rpm.

yeah on my 19 16v (93 L) the button on the end of the wiper stalk controls the trip computer,
gallons of petrol, miles till fill up, mileage counter, mpg, average speed, temperature(stuck on 122 degrees)

i can vouch for the difference in speedo readings for a vts and my 19 16v, when i raced my mate in his vts his clock was reading !15mph when i went past him my clock reading about !07mph!!

i had my computer reading 8mpg down the motorway at one point, averaged for the journey at 19mpg!!
then on the rolling road it went off the scale for overfueling the top end! fixed now and get about 32-33mpg for normal driving.
