I’d get it repaired, and if a garage won’t do it (because selling a new one is easier and better for them) I’d repair it myself with one of those repair kits. They are fairly easy and work.
You might get away with one of those to be honest, they just stick over the top of the existing aerial mount. Mine was a lux pack so had a larger aerial base hence having to buy a genuine shark to replace the whole thing as non of the stick on shark fins would fit over it.
Yes the headlights get expensive, but the rears if you buy wisely off eBay etc you can pick up bargains. Then you need a loom which pop up on the mk4 Facebook page. They were about £30 back then but I don’t know now.
I also fitted the genuine Renault shark fin. It wasn’t too bad of a job, drop...
Thanks, I miss that car the most!
The side trim the entire angled section comes off (slide off I think) and then the silver trim I think just clips in.
The diffuser I took off to do, it wasn’t too bad but the screws get rusty and hard to remove. Could be easy, could be hard. I know the screws...
Those wheels look really good actually, I like them. They sit better than the standard wheels that’s for sure.
I painted my side strips, diffuser and tailpipes black. I liked how it blended in (mine was black). I didn’t do the best job because A I’m an idiot and B I’m not an expert, but it...
Sounds like a nightmare with the wishbones. Mine had an advisory on the mot for rust on the sump when I bought it, so I managed to get the garage to replace it for a brand new one, so a great job using the rust inhibitor.
That would be the more standard option and would look good. The spoiler was also fitted to gt models of the Clio 4 as well if it helps narrow it down, although I’m not sure of the colour match. The standard Clio black is different from the rs. It’s only a slight difference but not sure if the gt...
When I fitted my smaller cup spoiler it had to be fitted to a standard spoiler, not the original, so I had to buy one and remove the original. I ended up practically giving the rs spoiler away in the end so hopefully you find one easily. It looks like it’s possibly had a replacement bootlid. My...
Hi and welcome. I can’t help you with the problems, I never had any with mine, rattles yes, but problems no.
Get some pictures up please! I’ve only seen one frost white in real life, beautiful colour. Awesome cars and with a few bits done even better! Really miss mine.
Hi and welcome. Very nice car and good choice! Always liked them in white.
Sadly you can’t get rs monitor fitted because I don’t think you have the correct radio in yours, the lux pack came with the rs monitor enabled screen. (You look to have the cup pack on yours though which is a bonus.) But...
Absolutely awesome. I had the same idea re the seats but didn’t get round to it sadly. They look great and they are proper nice feeling seats. As @Sash says they should have fitted similar seats from the off!
Side panels look good too, really good match from the photo.
Why not a 200/220 edc? With the edc gearbox it’s like a a45 (cough) but with french build quality and they are fun. Easy enough that you can fettle with it and more than capable.
Congratulations. A nice car for a tenner as said.
Watching the videos they did a lot of work to it, but I do wonder if they just do the bare minimum or go all out.
I too used to enter loads these comps, but never win them.
I had a billabong back in 03, it was that sick green colour with climate control and sunroof. Didn’t realise it was rare!
I got it 6 months old because someone who worked there wanted more economy than the 1.2 16v could offer!
This looks really clean and will be nice to see what you do with it!
Ah the memories back in the day of me in my sportka and my mate in his vtr NOT racing. Very close though.
I almost bought one recently but it was rotten in places I didn’t know cars rotted in! Holes everywhere but the fuel filler cap area was clean!
Perfect on the stitching mate, looks a different seat now you’ve repaired and debobbled it.
The paint you’ve done also looks really good. I prefer the colour coded strips, think it changes the car personally.
That is looking much better already. Great project and look forward to seeing you get it back to its former glory.
I fixed a car seat myself a couple of years ago with some thick thread and a curved needle. Was quite relaxing sitting doing it and saved me paying a trimmer to do it.
