    Hi, I have just replaced my clio 172 engine as the cam belt died on it. I have replaced the engine and I am now having immobiliser issues (I think)! :( Is there anyone willing to lend a hand and help me diagnose what the issue is. Im a bit desperate so any help would be greatly appreciated...

    To add to the confusion the engine now turns over for 5 seconds only if I start the engine immediately after getting in the car. After this everything goes dead, all the electrics die, I have to disconnect the battery to get any electrics back. Any other ideas?.... thanks

    The red cable on the alternator had roughly 12v and the starter motor did aswell.

    Thanks for the advice Mick, I will take that onboard! I don't want to do the same job twice so im going to take it nice and slow, check and double check everything. I hopefully will do it right first time !! :D

    Yeh im assuming some of the valves will have bent...but im not sure how many. As it happened when idling I may be lucky, but probably not! Im going to take the head off this weekend to see the damage.
