Knew I shouldn't have sold him my 182.... Ha. I jest, he was doing 80 down the motorway and BOOM, pheasant. Saw chunks of car flying off in his mirror.
I know the splitter is £100ish (he doesn't want to do the Skoda trick, want's to keep it standard) - how much is the arch plastic etc? It...
Some inheritance came through when he turned 18 and my dad's work fleet insurance covers any driver, cost £55/mo to add it to add it to the policy.
Yes, he is. Still in 'arsey teenage boy' mode though so doesn't realise it.
He won't do that - boy has taste, just he's 18 (I'm 22) and know what I was like at that age. I only had a 1.2 at the point to make my mistakes in.
He says it scares him though so I guess he'll learn rather than go gung ho.
I've gotten a job in London and need to live in Zone 2, bit short of cash and got the student overdraft baggage as well, so have just handed over the reigns for £3500.
Had it running the best it's ever been running too, brand new genuine back box, new center section, fixed the washers, only 1k...
There was the full kit from a car someone was stripping on eBay this time last year - went for £110.
Bet it would have been a PITA to get working though.
I had a 1.2 Clio with 42k and it was s**t. Broke down all the time and had an underlying electrical problem.
My 2004 182 which I bought on 68k last August, and since have driven it up to 97,500 with oils changes every 6k.... hasn't skipped a beat.
So yeah, mileage is a number.
Edit:
Just realised you said you wanted them checked, not changed. Whoops. I just called to ask about an exhaust fitting and enquired about the belts for you, they have all the proper tools and stuff and the price was right too.... so they should be absolutely fine for a check.

Took my 182 to them after I bought it for new rear discs and pads and a thorough checkover after only ever hearing good things, obviously knew their stuff. Admittedly I haven't used them for timing belt or anything, so as always, ask if they have the proper...
Yeah just to add another side to the argument, my 182 is on 95,000 miles. I changed the oil at 89,000 to 5w40 Fuchs and since then, with mostly town driving, have topped it up with 300ml. I bought 5l + 1l from Opie Oils and there is still 700ml in the 1l bottle. A good way to keep track.
My housemate has got the update on the DL now... if we can get hold of the new zombie maps, no sleep for us!
Edit: Update done. f**k yeah.
Edit: Can't log in :(
Think of it this way, for example.
His dads in property, sells a couple of houses off to secure something, it makes him £600k.
What difference does £8k make?
It's unfathomable how much money some people have to jus blow on s**t.
Dad's dropping off the spare on his way past home tonight. I'm going on such a long drive for the hell of it.
I think I'll have to stump up the Renault price :(
I'm an idiot, I had my car key in a zipped pocket in my leather jacket (didn't meant to take it out) on a night out a few weeks ago and somehow lost it. I haven't driven my car in 3.5 weeks as Uni is really hectic and my spare is at my parents.
Any idea where the cheapest place for a...
