heli tapes a good idea, but they dont scratch anyway. Theres only one place for a bike and thats on the roof, I use a nice thule carrier with the wind up arm. Takes 20 secs to stick the bike on then your off. I'd never go baack to a rear mount.
Hi. Can I ask, Did renault Cardiff fit the replacement shocks the first time. I'ts just i had 2 new rear shocks from them 6 months ago but my indipendant mechanic fitted them. They're leaking already. Just wondering if theres any kind of warranty on genuine parts that arent fitted be renault?
I've replaced 2 sets of rear shocks on my cup in 18 months so really dont want to buy the renault parts again. Are there any good quality replacement parts for the rear of a cup. Prefferably that wont leak within 6 months.:(
Whats going on with these shocks? I've fitted 2 new sets of rear shocks and ones leaking AGAIN!! How can Renault warrant selling such naff spares.
I came on to ask if theres any other reason they could be leaking. But it seems it's just bad quality parts.
Hi, I seem to have let my membership slip. Will have to get on that but could someone help me with a quick question.
My 172cup just failed mot on brake bias valve. I can't remember why but I've heard something somewhere about this. Or am I imagining it. Is it the case that the back brakes...
Ok Ive had the wheels all refurbed, my bolts are letting them down. I cant seem to find the bolts with a 19mm head. all the ones on ebay or demon tweeks have a 17mm head. I dont want to have to start finding and storing different wheel braces. Does anyone know where i can get the proper 19mm bolts?
My cars away having wheels refurbed. I want to get some nice caps for the rusty ol bolts. What size are they? Can't remember if they're 17 or 19mm.
Thanks.
UPDATE: Ok so I had the RAC chap come out to me and see what he thought. His computer wasnt working very well so all he could do was check a few things things that came to no joy. He towed me to an auto electrician who looked at it this morning. He managed to find the problem. Deep in the loom...
UPDATE: I had an auto electrician plug his computer into it. It came up with the imobiliser fault. Strange as the lights on the dash are working as they should but the imobiliser is staying on. He isnt sure and has pointed me in the direction of a garage who may be able to help. Can anyone give...
Im having exactly the same problem. Just refuses to start, Fine the night before. Very strange.
I to have the orange electrical fault light. Ive checked the tdc and cleaned it. Made no difference.
Whats this speed sensor then?
Jonff; Just checked this. The imobiliser flashes untill i turn the ignition, then it goes out with the other lights. But i have now noticed the orange light with the square box and the squiggle line through it stays on. This is the ECU light is it not?
53 plate 172 cup. Drove fine last night, Never let me down. Just went to take it out and it wont start. Lights on the dash come on and go off fine. The engine turns over. But not starting.
So what should I check, Ive heard about the TDC sensor and crank sensor. Is that the same thing? Worth...
Theres no doubt about it. You bought a shitter. It sounds like the gearbox is about to go. Thats going to cost between 300 and 500 quid. If you think it needs the belts its another 500. sounds like theres something majorly wrong with the steering. By the time thats fixed and youve had the...
I'm going to order a connects2 kit for my 172 cup. I'm just wondering where you put the box, and where you have the lead coming out. I was thinking of maybe incorporating it into the ashtray or something. Or is there a neater option.
pics would rock.:)
Really. People dont really seem to talk Pirellis when chatting good performance tyres. They are ok. but i'm not sure I really want to replace them like for like.
I have a Renault clio 172 cup. It's very good at being a mental little rocket but not so good at cruising around the city. I don't really know why I bought a cup. I'm not really a racer, But i liked the colour and it looks nicer than the standard sport model.
Anyway. The tyres are all coming to...
