I dropped the engine and gearbox out of the car and the steering came loose in the car, now the Three lights are on the dash, where do i start? How can check that the steering angle is right? do i need a diagnostic machine?
I have just changed the gearbox on my car so dropped the front subframe but i have now to put it all back together and realised that the steering column has come out of joint in the footwell. Whats the best way to do this?
Steering wheel off or carpet out?
I'm currently in the process of replacing the gearbox on my 172 and since I've already taken everything off the front of the car it's a good time to replace faulty and worm out parts like shocks and springs etc.
But how do I check the CVs and shafts?
Since i bought the car the window on the drivers side often comes out of the rails and gets stuck.
Have to push it back in place, it seems that the little black plastic piece that's nailed to the window must be broken, how are these replaced and where will I pick one up?

ive been looking through the forum to find the answer to my question but cant find it, when changing the cambelt on the 2.0 engine, why is it necessary to lock the camshafts and the camshaft sprockets? could you not just lock the camshafts?
I have just bought a clio cup 172, it came without the original alloys and has 18" alloys on it, i personally dont like the massive monsters on it and am going to change them, they make the car too stiff and the rub on the arches.
