BenR, no its not it was with a cold engine, ill get running temp oil pres levels tomo, and the levels were only read from the dash gauge. the oil is new and more than good enough quality. :(

Does anyone have any opinions on this? I currently own a fully standard, Naples red mint body work, paint and interior, n reg 55k clio 16v. I estimate to be worth around 3000k. like most I would like to mod the car and would love to have a customer colour respray plus the usual lowering...

im pretty sure it was measured on a mechanical oil guage when the garage checked it out. im not 100% sure about the levels, i will have to check tomorrow, but i know its not what it was a few months ago :(

Hi, Just wondering if anyone here has had the same thing as me or has any idea of known common causes but... my 96 clio 16v has been showing low oil pressure for a while now, the pressure does go up and down with the revs but not as fast as before, low pressure oil the warning light...

yea NCP are really bad, my mate works at one and he says use them as your last option. the secuirty is all lies sorry to hear your news.

that includes the labour, all parts and polishing. for a full rebuild do you think its good or bad?

would a full engine rebuild at 1500 be a fair price? including the new clutch? bb charge 1399 without a clutch, so it seems fair. ps, thanks for all your help so far

the only problem with a replacment engine is i dont knwo the condition of it, it might be as bad or worse i did see that williams engine on ebay from a guy on here, but still dont know what im buying. :((

oh and they said they were as sure as they can be without taking the sump out or sumit to check the bearing, which would take ages and cost lots of labour

humm yea seems a bit out my price range :) the ticking sound like tappits x 10. it only makes the ticking on every 1 out of 5 starts, but they recon its run low on oil at some point and has cause the bearings to wear. basically its very rough and loud compared to other cars. they quoted...

Hi, had some bad news from the garage today. The ticking from my 16vs engine turns out to be serious, and they recommended a partial engine reconditioning and new clutch.(the garage can be trusted) I am prob gona go for it, as the other option is sell it, and im to honest and would feel bad...
