    Hi and a dilemma

Standard is the new modified LOL! In the same situation as you, I've come from an Elise Sport 160 and a Honda 2000, to a 172 Cup. The bodywork is immaculate. I've got new Renault dampers on with Sportline springs. I've put 182 seats in but kept the originals. There are braided brake lines on...

    reputable bodyshop in essex?

We service all 3 of our motors at CL Panelcraft, and I've had paint done on my Omega there. Les (the owner) is a character to say the least, and all the lads who work for him down-to-earth guys who won't bulls##t you. They are a good bunch.

    Alloy wheel refurbishment/powdercoating in herts/essex

Thought I'd update this one after collecting my Turinis from J P Polishing the other day. John did a fantastic job, they are like new, and only £180! He takes off the tyres, and rebalances the wheels with new weights. He's based in a very small unit in a dump of an industrial estate, but he's a...

    Plates

Just order the front plate! Got mine a couple of days ago, I think it was £12.99 delivered, looks ok. If you actually need a new rear plate, get it off ebay, about £6 delivered for a standard plate.

    Alloy wheel refurbishment/powdercoating in herts/essex

I'm off to JP Polishing in Canvey tomorrow to get my Turinis refurbed. he comes highly recommended and it's only 180 notes, the cheapest I've found. Should pick them up next week, so I'll try to remember to update this thread with my experience.

    Replacement air filter

No point whatsoever on a 1.2 mate, and ignore anyone who tells you theirs felt quicker or made more noise haha! Just get a standard filter for a few quid from a motorfactors.

    Apex lowering springs

I was doing exactly the same as you when I got my 172 Cup, i put fresh OEM dampers all round but with Eibach Sportlines. The car handles great, and that set-up is far better for the track than cheap coilovers. I had Apex springs for a short time on my S2000. I say short because they were crap...

Cheapest way to go low and hard (ooo errr)

I refreshed all the shocks with OEM Renault on mine, and put Eibach Sportlines on. In my opinion that was a MUCH wiser option than cheap coilovers. It handles great. Cheap coilovers and crap and don't last, they are just for looks.

    New 172 Cup owner....

Hello everyone! Well I've just put my first post under the Problems section, I hope I'm not a regular there! :rasp: I've had my '53 reg Clio 172 Cup a few weeks now, and recently did a track day at Brands. I was coming from a Honda S2000, and a modified Elise Sport 160 prior to that, so I...

Squeeking/Scraping from front n/s when hot?????

Hello chaps, was wondering if anyone had any pointers as to what this 'problem' could be?.... I did a track day at Brands recently, and had to cut the evening short due to a horrendous noise coming from the front of the car. At first I thought it was the steering rack, but getting under the car...
