my battery light and stop light come on after the car is started...i don't think its the alternator as the battery charges at 14 volts. thinking it may be an earth fault??? Does anyone have any wiring diagrams or other suggestions - cheers :)

you don't happen to have the wire diagram for the alternator please? Im trying to do a bit of fault finding and really struggling...Would be really appreciated!!

If your alternator seized surely your battery would be sat at a voltage less than 12 volts. seeing that mine is at 14.5 volts is this not a good indication that the battery is being charged?? i.e the alternator is working??

I thought it might be this but the battery is charging at 14.5 volts when the car is running. Any other ideas with what I can check??

After starting my car the battery and stop light flash really quickly and then after a bit stay on constant. Looks like an intermittent connection or something. Does anyone have any ideas where to start looking or if it is something else causing the problem. Thanks :)

when I come to change all 4 discs and pads do I have to change the ABS rings as well - just pricing up parts now and all the sets seem to come with the ABS ring excluded. Cheers guys.

Ye, thats how it looks...i just thought someone knew of an easier way, or how to know if the starter motor is definitely broken without taking it off??

I have a clio 182 and i think the starter motor is knackered. To get it off i think i need to (a) drop the whole exhaust system, (b) take the heat shield off to get the starter motor off...is this correct or is there an easier way? Is there a way to tell if it is the starter motor at fault...
