Just spotted this thread while searching for something else.
Yes he is quite an old guy - his family owned the York House Hotel - which he sold for a pot of gold that's where the YHH part of his private plate comes from.
He bought my MK1 172 then part ex'd it a few years later for the Trophy.
hehe it is a bit of a toy, very revy and sticks to the road like the proverbial sticky stuff. It has done a 0-60 in 6.4s and a 1/4 mile in 13.5 , however that was the bit of road that plod clocked me on, so I am always a bit more careful.
Hello and welcome back. We are still lurking in the background. I think that we had the blue Mk. 1 at the time you had your silver one. We too have moved on a bit and now Helen had an inferno full fat 182 and I have a striped out cup.
I might even be temped out for a meet if you are coming.

Hi there it we I.
I had just been down to Russels to have a laugh at them, ( I had just had a letter from them telling me that I was lucky enough to be offered a chance to buy a 197, and they where going to offer me a "good" price on mine, haha)
It was nice to have a bit of a play, even...
Spotted a guy with a clio sport.net sticker in his car today - his name is Mark Higgins... It was a (rather nice) blue Clio Sport on the A41 today.

Were the figs at the fly or at the weels?
And have you got any picks the cams being fitted, as I was looking in to something like this ?
The re map must have been fun to do having changed so many parts.
So as I mucked it up my wife is not able to bring her car, unless a club member asks for an extra club pass. She has a ticket, it is just the stand pass that she needs.
So if anybody is still going to order there tickets could you order an extra stand pass, and let me know.
I did not do this and so I need a second car pass.
If someone is still to order there ticket could you add an extra car pass to your order, and PM me.
Thanks
Just had my 24K done by Mike and not only was it £100 cheeper than my Renault dealer wanted but he gave me a lift into town and picked me up and washed my car too. He also sorted out my survice and airbag lights and realined my excorst too.
This is a top bloke and suporting him is the one way...
One lad at work left his sun roof open so we filled his car with packing chips, you know the ones that you pack things in boxes with, all the way to the top. It took 3 of us about an hour to do and him about 3 months to get all the bits out afterwoulds.
I just thought that this might be of intrest to a few of you out there.
I have been doing this for about a year and I find it a good way of getting out and about.
All you need is a gps, and I bet there are a few of you out there that have them, and a good pair of boots.

Right here we go.. Having owned a MK2 1.6 16v, a MK1 172, a MK2 172, a MK2 172cup and a 182 with both cup packs, I think that I am in a better than average position to comment.
First the MK1 1.6 16v - Seemed to be lacking in the power and performance front. Having come from another 1.6 16v, not...
How many people know how heavy there car is?
I had mine up on the scales when I was having my coilovers fitted, and it came up at 1015Kg. Now as I have removed the back seats from my car, but had a full tank, I think that this is quite good.
The other thing that we noticed was that the car...
I know how you feel on this one, as I had this happen to me xmass eve 2 years ago, and to make it worse it was a hire car.
My car was in the workshop at the time because an old..... person.. had driven in to it 3 times wile getting out of a parking space, got back in the car hit it one more time...

Na she sourced them a lot cheaper than Maz was selling them for.
Just got them fitted, and the ride is not to harsh however, I know that they will settle a bit.
The only problem is that the wheel is rubbing the arch a bit.
So I have 3 options as I see it.
1) take the arch out. 2)...
She gets to drive it every now and then when she is not driving her 182, just depends on who was last in and therefore the first out of the drive.
She dose not like the harneses on a day to day basis but she has been known to try and find the rev limeter, and with the r-sport thats somewere in...
Oh and the car only has one seat in it at the mo as my other seats are back at cobeau getting redone.
She also got me the r-sport ecu, quick shift, viper, magnex, and let me trade in her MK1 172 for my cup...... top bird.
