The brakes are AP Racing 4 pots badged as SEAT Sport.
Tested them out the other day on a private race track, c*nt pulled out on me at 130 as I was performing a top speed test, they seemded to work ok! :D
Test Car magazine compared it to the 182! I thought it was going to get whopped!
Overall they said the 182 was more fun to drive and if the 182 is better then the 172, I completely agree. The performed all the usual 0 - 60 and ingear times and the Tdi was the same 0 - 60 and faster ingear...
I have had to do it! I have now p/x my mk2 172 in for a SEAT Ibiza Cupra Tdi.
(1.9 tdi, 160ps, 247 lb/ft @ 2k rpm - but in reality all Cupra Diesels have been RRd at 175 - 180bhp! )
Had to do this due to work commitments, I am now travelling 110 miles a day! Needed to get more miles to the...
The 0 - 60 of the Cupra is quoted on the SEAT website as 7.6 yet the magazine got 6.8? At the back of the magazine in the stats it still stated the Ibiza as 7.6.
I know 0 - 60 isnt everything but 7.6 to 6.8 is still quite a bit of difference...
No one has really commented on how loud the CTR is @ 100mph +!
I have had a 04 CTR on rental from Enterprise a few times over the last few months and have taken it to 145 - 150mph and it is a great car but over 100mph the noise can be a bit unbearable!
A great car though and when that VTEC...
Ive got 6 points at the moment (1x SP30 + 1x SP60) and my insurance (A Flux) is about £200 more than a clean license! Add on the 2 x £60 fines, it starts to make a bit of sense.
With the amount of mobile vans that are around now I just cant take the risk. :(
I am seriously thinking of getting a radar detector, there are so many old bill around now its unbelievable! :@
I have been looking at the Snopper S6R Neo which has GPS and radar + laser protection.
The origin b2 looks good but supposedly doesnt work with heat reflective windscreens...
i have spoken to renault sutton and they said the same as renault solihull, they also said that if the car is serviced regularly by a dealer and travels average mileage (10 - 12k per year) then it stands a better chance of renault paying up for all of the warranty work and not a certain...
Ok guys, I bought my 172 from motornation on import last year (02 plate) the car was imported from Holland but motornation relieved my of about £350 for an extra 2 years warranty! I spoke to my nearest garage (renault solihull) and they confirmed that it was covered for 3 years with renault...
Mark,
This happened to my 02 172 and was covered fully by the warranty.
I live in Sutton Coldfield but always take my car to Renault Solihull, they are really good and when I had my car serviced i managed to blag a courtesy car, my car is an import and they have never batted an eyelid when...
jonnyboy, it is logical that the petrol is bought from a major petrol supplier ie BP / Shell.
I read an article in a car magazine (maybe Evo or Autocar) and various cars were ran for a few months from new with fuel from different places, the valves were then taken from the engines and...
I have read on another forum that the Cup engines are benchmarked to 172BHP and the 172s arnt? Is this true? I would have thought that they are all made on the same production line.
I try to use Optimax but if not I always use a branded 95 RON fuel ie Shell, I have read somewhere that the Supermarket fuel is pretty ropey.
