ragging the car from cold isn't the smartest move. Mine feels less responsive when it's cold but I just put it down to the engine not being upto temp and the fueling being different on the map, as soon as it heats up it's totally fine.

I would usually but when I can get one for free from my work then I'd rather do that as having just bought the car my account hasnt quite recovered :)

Hey guys, Had a search and discovered the problem to my lack of speed reading is due to a duff sensor. Just wondering what other renaults use the same speed sensor on top of the gearbox as I work at a car breakers and the only 172 we have is engine/boxless :( Cheers, Ben

Sounds like the ignition system is breaking up under load, try a new set of leads and plugs
