Okay well although thats out of my budget (£100) I guess i can justify it as I can sell it on when I change my car ;)
So whiteline ARB, and some oem bushes up front? But which ones.. ARB?
Thanks
Ive just done a search for bushes up front, alot of info on powerflex bushes etc, however I think I just want OEM.
Which bushes would I need, how much would they cost, and where could I get them from?
1.Inner/outer ARB
2.ermmmmmm what other bushes are there lol
Well Ive got a £100 budget to play with so in order of importance realy, Ive recently changed the ball joints and track rod ends.
Top mounts how much would they be?
Im after a list of what you would do and how much it would cost for parts ( I can fit it)
So:
1.Top mounts - (£40?)
2.etc
Im planning a refresh of the suspension on my clio 172 (2002).
Im planning to fit new genuine cup shocks all round (rears are the same between the 172 and 172 cup, right?)
Combined with eibach -30mm springs (sportline?)
Anything else that would be worth doing while im at it? planning on doing...
Quick thanks to Luke at Sky insuarance, just insured my clio 172 2002 for £522 TPFT 24/yo 6yrs NCB. Helpful and friendly, unlike some of the other people I spoke to when i was ringing round.
Apparently the company in with (Chauser) are modification friendly..... hmmmmmm ;)
For what its worth I ran ds2500's at donnington with fresh dot 5.1 and was hard on the breaks into every corner and didnt get any brake fade, even after a 30 min session, pretty impressed realy
Its certainly had plenty of oil changes in its 104k mile life with fully synth.
Is there anything else I can check to assess the health of the engine before I go and pay 40% of the cars value for a cambelt + dephaser?
A little nervous about paying all that dough then it dieing 2k miles later...
They are just the plugs that came with the car, I know the F4R can be a little fussy so I will make sure I put the correct ones in when I service it (sometime soon!)
Oh and thanks JackJack..
Looks like its healthy! Yay!
Cannot decide if I want to keep my car and get the cambelt done or just to move it on. I decided It would be quite handy to know what the engine is like and as far as I know a compression test can give an indication of the engines health.
I took all the spark plugs out, then did cylinder 1-4...
When I spoke to someone about getting my cambelt done I mentioned the leak to him..... He said he thinks it can be sorted when he does the cambelt. So is this whats needed Fred?
Hi, ive just inspected my spark plugs but I am unsure as to what im looking at!
Is this just a worn spark plug? I think you can tell if an engine is burning oil/lean from the plugs but I cannot remember whats what.
If anyone could advise it would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance Adam...
Hi guys. My 1st post.. happens to be a fault! Ah well.
Anyway I've got a bit of a leak, appears to be coming from the top of the engine somewhere. I took the inlet manifold off a few months ago to investigate what I thaught was a problem with the ignition system, and it turned out one of the...
