All back together now including assembling my custom driveshafts - thankfully measured up perfectly! Will start wiring now - diagrams drawn and pins mapped. Should be relatively procedural (although have never used a PDM but should be simple enough).
As a side just wired an adaptonic m1200...
Test fitting everything before dropping it back in. Have to say access to parts is a big plus for Honda. Wiring loom had some broken plugs - can buy them all new online locally here in Aus!

All good. It's on Megane injectors as it was running about 230hp on E85 and pretty lairy cams - miles of injector left (probably too much!).

Before the next race! Currently running a motec mapped for the old high comp, big cams engine on E85. Idles surprisingly well!!
Thanks again for your assistance!

Hi Guys,
Unfortunately lunched my high comp engine in the race car. Going to drop in a stock engine for now and planned to Group N time. Unfortunately Australia Post has lost the Group N timing tool so I'm left a little short as planning to put the engine in tomorrow!
So, does anyone know the...
Began putting the gearbox together. Looks pretty straight forward. Very cool they have recycled the bellhousing end of the K series gearbox!

Engine is now built. Sleeved k24 with all the bells and whistles. Will hold a lot more power than I'm planning on making. Main jobs now are to build gearbox and wire the car. Won't be rushing (albeit keen to get it done). Have had a couple of projects I've been working on in the meantime...
No lock down in Sydney (for the moment!) but probably post lock-down in any case as still a bit to do. Hopefully no hold-ups....

Just tried to download the Nexus software to take a look - case in point - won't install (same computer that has run many different vendors tuning software). Best to let others iron out the bugs! If it is any good it will be embraced over time.

Yeah, it seems very incestuous. Will be interesting to see how the Nexus progresses. Always takes a while for an ECU to be developed and have all the bugs ironed out - def cool that it has an inbuilt PDM. M150 with paddle shift not much cheaper but now very well evolved and proven. You just...
Not in the same league and in any case no advanced paddle shift control.
Motec and Emtron are also Australian! As is Autronic and Adaptronic. For some reason we are good at ECU's!!

Haha. Me too. Engine is now dismantled and going in for sleeving. Drive shafts mocked up for manufacturing. Then engine and gearbox builds, wire ECU and we are away. Still tossing up on ECU's. Either Motec M150 or Emtron KV8. Probably Motec as my tuner is a whiz on them.....

These guys seem to have done one and can't recall if Select have done a MK2. I know I saw another one on FB.
I just finished the fab on a k24 into a MK2. Fair bit of faffing to get it to fit but it is in! See the missile build thread...
Slow going but almost up to the big stuff - wiring, engine and gearbox build, drive shafts and finish welding the chassis rail when the engine is back out.
Pipes and lines (air, fuel, water, oil) 99% complete with PTFE braided hose. Will also be closing up the hole in the cabin for the...
Slowly, slowly. Engine now in and subframe modified to clear sump. I was saying to a friend I feel like I have all the edges of the puzzle done now!! Now need to finish dogbones, clean up and paint mounts, complete pipes and lines, driveshafts then wiring. Simples....

Bit of both. Big spacers on the rear beam and wider lower ball joints on the front plus the wider, lower offset wheels.

Been a while, have been building a full NA car for improved production racing.
Engine in the missile decided to eat itself (my fault - aux belt went under cam belt and we all know the rest - best one I've seen - 16 valves, 2 pistons and 1 bore scored!!).
So, here is what's next - K24 (test...
Nice one. I can't recall I'm sorry but the are just the size that is in the dephaser maybe M6 fine. I can't recall the heads on the dephaser bolts but I had to grind slots in them to get them out. On my latest car I am going to mount from the other side (ie the engine mount side) - may be able...
After waiting 8 frustrating months for active suspension from Tractive I cancelled the order and went with 5300's from AST - manufactured and delivered in under a month! Should have just gone this way from the start! The 5100's that are currenty on the car will find their way onto another...
Managed to get the car re-tuned with the 4 port solenoid and 2 port actuator. Can now hold 21psi through redline delivering around 460hp at the wheels. That is now officially enough, mainly to avoid it self destructing (or prolonging the time before it does at least!). On track next Friday for...
I think the smaller rolling circumference of a 15 is better for acceleration. Handling, not sure, there's many schools of thought on that!
