    Motorpoint Bargains

I picked up my wifes black 172 there last week. I checked the colours in stock and ordered black, the only one they had was the above which(dont quote me) was imported through Malta and only has the Motorpoint 12 month warranty, hence its price. Mine has the latest spec and was 11999 + OTR costs...

    alarm arming

Ok guys thanks, guess I didnt do enough research beforehand. Id like a few confirmations from those who have had aftermarket alarms fitted to their 172s that the hazards flash when alarming, same as when locking with the standard remote key. Then tomorrow Ill be having a word.;)

    alarm arming

Thanks Frosty, thats made me think it may be quite useful, when the missus parks outside I can see if shes just locked the car with the key or locked and alarmed it with the fob. Its a laserline alarm there doesnt seem to be much mention about them in previous posts.

    alarm arming

Can anyone tell me if the dealer supplied 172s flash the hazard lights when arming/disarming as is normal. Just had an aftermarket alarm fitted and the fogs flash as matey told me some guff about polarity on French cars, could he see the MUG on my forehead. Minor point anyway I suppose.

Cheers Rich, I think I may try 95 after a while. Although I normally fill the cars, if I tell her not to put ordinary unleaded in she might think diesel is a good plan:D

    Cruise control and running in

Gambler, I waste some money chopping cars around, the Reno for my wife is a bit for me to play with;) but my Leon Ive had for 18 months (6th Seat since the VW takeover!!) and its the best car Ive ever had. Too early for direct comparison just yet but the Seat is a real solid car with smooth...

    98/95 Ron

Ive read all the previous threads regarding pinking and the ECU on the 172. Does anyone have any experience of running the 172 engine long term on 95 RON fuel? The reason I ask is cos my Leon Cupra recommends 98 Ron quoting slight power loss only if you use 95. On seatcupra.net loads of people...

    Cruise control and running in

Picked up the wifes 172 from Motorpoint in Derby this morning after a 4.5 hour drive up from Cornwall. Was not looking forward to the drive back trying to keep the revs down. The cruise control and autowipers made it the most stressfree drive Ive ever had. I doubt well use the cruise much, I was...
