This has happened to me a few times but after turning the key off then trying again it has been fine (Never needed to be done 3 times) and it has never effected the performance after doing it. I think it is definitely something to do with the immoboliser.
My cup does it every time you go round a tight corner. Reanault said they were aware of it when I took it in for a service. Apparently it is the steering rotary switch and is common. I am going to book it in to the garage and get them to replace it to see if it dissapears. It is annoying but...
It is not dangerous to have a faulty rotary switch is it? It does not seem to effect the handling though. Just done a wet backroad very fast and it was a total laugh. I love it. It is definetely the best car I have ever had.
I have a cup and think there may be something wrong with the handling too. If you go round a tight right bend at any speed it makes a rattling sound like something is loose - Renault told me there was no problem when it was in for a service but I read somewhere about something which goes wrong...
