Very true, but I think what I'm more trying to say is: because I'm running on tyres that are nothing special, if I lower my car more it wont really affect the handling to the point that an average driver like myself would ever notice. If anything to me, it will probably feel like it sticks to...
Haha, I understand why you think I am ruining it. And from a handling point of view I agree, however I would'nt use the word ruin as I can return to the KONI+Eibach set-up anytime. Lets say ..hmm..unimproving :) But I am a fan of a nice low, wide stance I wont deny!
Can I just say though, that...
I've searched and found a few threads that were helpful but its still hard to know as the set-up is specific to each car :S
I have a ph2 172 cup, currently lowered on eibachs at the rear(30mmish) and 50mm at the front.Tyres are 205/45. No scrubbing or anything of that nature. However I recently...
Can I just say, I'm number 4 on the list, my friend put me down on the 197 forum. My car is actually a Mondial blue 172 cup haha. For what its worth :P Looking forward to next sunday :)
Recently there has been a squeaky/squealy noise from the back right of the car. It happens when I steer to the left, brake and go over bumps. Most of the time I can hear it but sometimes there is no noise too. The rear callipers were new 2 months ago and the pads and discs are in good condition...
The point of my post was quite simply: Why bother with finance when you could buy a 172/182 and have the same luxury and fun without the monthly payments? But if you prefer a 197 for other reasons then fair enough. I compared a 197 to a 172 in price, performance and interior as I thought it may be...
My friend recently bought a 197, we dragged them on the motorway from 40 in second gear. My 172 cup pulled away quite easily and it cost around a third of the price. And I put 182 FF interior in it for £300 so it has nicer seats than the 197 too. But each to his own, enjoy the new car :)
I had the belts done recently, noticed yesterday that it looked like the belt wasnt sitting right on the crankshaft pulley(if thats correct).
Please advise, Aaron.
Cars are manufactured to provide for as wide range of customers as possible, ultimately to sell as many units as possible. So when you buy one you need modify it to suit you/your needs. In some cases modifications are very small but they exist. Some people say "My car isn't modified", it is...
My clio 172 cup recently (couple months ago) had the brakes bled and new rear calipers fitted to pass MOT. Can anyone tell me if the brake fluid is changed when bleeding the brakes? If not I think I will change the fluid, am I right in saying 1000ml is enough?
Thanks,Aaron
What a disaster :( doesn't put in the new cranckshaft bolt i gave to him and the belt squeaks when I turn the car on....
Not to mention the amount of dirt on the steering wheel and mats...
Is there nobody reliable that has common sense out there :S
Yeah I didn't understand why he didnt change it either, now I guess I'll just return it to Renault unless anyone on here wants it :S Car is running as normal, however sometimes on starting there is a little squeak from one of the belts, probably the fan belt? Anything to worry about?
Apologies...
Just had the timing belt changed earlier today, but the fella doing the job didnt put in the new crankshaft bolt(i think thats what its called anyway) I had bought from Renault and gave to him along with the kit. He said he just tightened up the the one that was already in it.
I know its good...
In my opinion get rid of the entire body kit and put it back to standard, no carbon wrapping or anything. Have it nicely colour coded in a factory colour and put OEM wheels on. Then lower it 30mm, and you have a nice classy, powerful clio :)
Only my opinion so feel free to ignore it.
That clio...
