Was the diagnostic machine a CLiP or a generic OBDII? CLiP can pick up on things OBD wont. Best to get a proper diag done rather than tossing money at the car
Coolant Temp Seensor can cause rough running issues and the cutting out could be a gash throttle body, the starting probs could be TDC Sensor.
Best thing is a diagnostics, as its all speculation at this point.
Just wondering if one of the technically minded members wouldnt mind casting their eyes over the Live Data Grid posted below. This was taken at the end of my journey hoe from work, the scanner was running the whole way home (20 odd miles of stop start driving in medium traffic).
Looking at it...
I'm after a bit of advice, CS.
I have just carried out a dry compression test (warm) and received the following pressures.
Pot 1 - 150psi
Pot 2 - 160psi
Pot 3 - 170psi
Pot 4 - 180psi
I know i should carry out a wet test, but these results seem slightly odd. Should each pot be identical or is...
My car failed its MOT on the emissions test today. The tester said to get the misfire sorted, I have already changed the plugs, coil, CTS, and front Lambda. Im at a complete loss now, should I bother with a compresion test or just get some new injectors?
Is there anyone in the Dartford Southeast London Area with Clip or RSTuner? I have just fitted the resistors in the wiring for the airbag but the SERV light is still on. I have had the clocks out and it looks like the previous owner has broken the Airbag LED, so I'm not sure if the light has...
Thats the Coolant Temperature Sensor. Its located on the right hand side of the engine (If you are standing looking into the bay), Just below the injector rail.
Are you getting any oil in your water or vice versa? If so then I would say your Head Gasket is goosed, causing water to get where it...
Pulling to one side when braking usually indicates unbalanced front brakes. This could be caused by a sticking caliper, faulty brake lines, or mismatched pads. A warped disc would usually be described by feeling a "bounce" or vibration through the pedal when braking.
Definitely no leaks in the system and both lambdas are fine. There was a blow from the backbox originally, but this is now sealed. Could it just need time to settle as there is no leak?
Hi CS,
Having a little problem since I fitted a new rear silencer. The emmisions light is now flashing and the car is running lumpy as school custard under acceleration.
It's a 1.2 16v with a K&N panel filter.
I have fitted new plugs and coil in the last 2 months and the O2 sensor is...
Just a thought, does anyone have any idea as to wether a program could be constructed so as to allow the raspberry pi to read the CLIP data from an ECU?
Hello Friendly forum ppl.
I have a Mk2 P2 Extreme 16v with a 1*2 half leather interior and I have a question about the seat airbag wiring.
The original seats had side airbags as do the current ones but they arent wired up. My question is which wires do iconnect to which, as I have more...
Good Morning,
I have took the leap and purchased a 1.2 Extreme 16v with a full 172 interior.
Gonna have a snoop round the boards and see what I can use for the better.
Be lucky
