Mine sounds like a haunted house in traffic - every little movement makes a squeaking/creaking from the arches somewhere. Even more-so when I'm on & off the brake pedal

Don't think the black ones need any welding - I could be wrong though

I've found that one of my metal sleeves on the wishbones has moved as it wasn't spot-welded when fitted. (Powerflex bushes- purple type) I do get a strange rubbing sound occasionally on the offside too - think it's an arch liner though

I had Powerflex wishbone bushes put on the car a while back. After a while I got a crazy noise coming from the car I thought/was led to believe was a brand new shock Got a good look underneath and the only odd thing we spotted is one of the metal collars for the wishbone bushes has moved...

Not sure why one of my shocks were diagnosed as being weaker than the other - seems fine to drive and passed MOT ok. Got another good look for my noise and a metal sleeve from Powerflex wishbone bushes is rubbing the subframe - sprayed some grease in there and gave it a tap with a hammer. No...

The noise in my front left is something uncalled for - and everything is fresh apart from engine & rack mounts!

This is interesting I have front Cup shocks - fitted new in January and Renault "health check" diagnosed one as being week

Still have this creaking session - lots of squeaking on a good B-Road blast and even smooth roads around town at 30mph and less It's had a health check when it was in Renault having the belts done. Their comment on the checklist "Passenger front shock seems weaker than drivers front"

Think it's inevitable in them anyway from reading up on it before - I had my 10 year/70k belts done last week too

I replaced my breather gasket & solenoid seal last summer. Still have oil pooling where the lower inlet meets the head though, but in fairness I've always had that with this car and been told it's normal lol

I was going to do that too, but don't those bolts need to be torqued, and in a certain order?

Yeah pretty-much, the dephaser and just under 1 hour labour

Just home from collecting the car - it's that quiet on idle I thought I had stalled it sitting in traffic! All normality has been restored and I actually like driving it again :)

Any opinions welcome, Renault now say the dephaser needs done, when I had asked them to check the condition of it while the belts were being replaced. Their mechanic claims the condition of the dephaser can't be diagnosed

Not misfiring - seems to be a little noisy on idle but that could be in my head. Would need to hear a healthy 1*2 engine to compare

Just trying to eliminate possibilities First thing K-Tec asked me when I rang them was if the timing had been adjusted latley It's got a K-Tec Supersport recessed & K-Tec sport cat if it makes any difference too

I just picked the car up from having the 70k/10 year belt change yesterday and it stinks of rotten eggs when driving it :dead: Smell goes away with the aircon on after a run on the motorway but comes back again Now what's wrong?
