That's interesting, I'll get a pic of the cup one that came off - it's sitting out ready to get a helicoil.
It deffo wasn't down to the play in the bolts as we slackened them all and put them hard up in our favour to equalise with the other side as much as possible. Still confused as to why...
They looked identical (except the ABS) when off the car but when fitted it gave approx 1° camber difference (less -ve with the non-cup) and not sure about the offset but looks different visually.
That's checking the geometry before and after with 4 wheel laser alignment. I know because...
That's strange, I got a 172 hub fitted to my 172cup when I got the car (came with the car) and although it fits fine it gives vastly different offset and camber. I'm going to be getting the original helicoiled and refitted.
Dunc.
Really feels and sounds like rev limiter to me, really obvious at 9:35 onwards on this vid, and I'm shifting MILES before the 7k limiter in this vid too (about 5k iirc)

You can hear it best at the end of the...
Hi,
Problem is the car hits the rev limiter earlier in the rev range than it should, sometimes it goes to 7k but other times earlier, had originally thought it was a fuel surge problem but no longer think this. Put it on some rollers today and the fueling is spot on (have also checked the...

Thanks for all the help on this, I want to avoid upgrading the calipers etc if possible, it's a second track/race car so want to keep the funds and effort going into the other.
Thanks again for all the good advice, I'm going to give...
Thanks, I just gave him a call, £138 delivered. Also tried carbotech XP10's and they are £216. Probs going for the RS6's although they are out of stock. The part no. for the RC6's is 4026, is this correct for my ph2 172 cup?
Thanks,
Duncan.
Interesting, PF's are the best pad I've ever used (not on a clio though). Where's the best place to get RC6's and roughly what price? Also do they need bedding in?
Thanks,
Dunc.
Just finished a set of front DS3000's they wore down very fast and got way too hot in my opinion with hard use (and pretty hard on the disks), I'm not sure what to get next would the CL be a big improvement? Track/race use only btw.
Cheers,
Duncan.
Just took my front wheels off to get balanced and found these, not sure if they are separate spiggot rings or part of/included with the wheels. The wheels are team dynamics 1.2's, these parts have obviously not enjoyed the heat of braking much so looking for better replacements - need them...
Just a quick hello to anyone I met at KH today, first time on track in the car and no problems - some really nice clio's there today as well.
Dunc (blue 172 cup)
I'm new to clio's so had better let the experts/regulars answer that, there's one on eBay but it's a tricky area so you probs want good tried and tested kit - don't want a leak there :nono...
Normal way is to use an oil filter sandwich plate, basically the plate screws into where the oil filter goes and the oil filter screws into the plate. Or it can be a filter relocation one, using lines so you can put the filter where ever you want (for space).
I'm new to clio's so not sure...
Yeah I'm afraid they do work like that. I was referring to oil pressure gauge, it's more important than oil temp as already stated by other people (oil temp is handy but should be used in addition to oil press, not instead of). The oil is taken up to the gauge through a thin bore pipe from a...
Just wondering why you say this, I believe that electric gauges are strongly preferred. If you get a broken connection between the gauge and the pressure sender on an electric gauge the gauge will read 0 (or short to some other silly reading), you stop the car and later sigh relief that it's...
Cheers for the welcomes, used on the road and it was a sensible price but since all the tuning parts on it were bought new fairly recently it increased the value a decent bit.
Just noticed it's got a cliosport.net tax disk holder too, so must have been on here at some point!
Cheers,
Dunc...
Hello! Picked up this last night so thought I'd post up some details and a couple of pics:-
It's a 2003 clio 172, with the following extra parts:-
6-Point Safety Devices roll cage (matte black) with double diagnoal cross bars and harness bars in the rear
Battery cut offs (internal and...
