Hi - I've finished my timing belt job and noticed what I think is a missing o-ring or gasket. I see what looks like a plastic ring on the old dephaser pulley but don't think I could or should try to save it.
Can this be replaced or is it new cap time..
The crank locking pin is a Sealey aftermarket item. As such I don't want to risk putting too much force into it. I will have another go with it tomorow when the horseshoe is in perhaps. My belts were last changed 10 years ago!
I managed to get the dephaser snapped free using the tool without the horseshoe bar inserted at the rear. But the exhaust pulleys is pretty tight. I imagine if I can get the horseshoe pulleys into the rear that would help stop the pulley moving.
The engine is slightly out of time already but...
Hi all. I'm midway through an engine out full service. I have removed the aux belt but think I missed a trick not breaking the exhaust, dephaser and crankshaft pulleys loose before taking the engine out.
I have the genuine renault locking tools. I don't belive I should put any force locking...
I'm somewhat committed now to engine out the top. I've bought a straight flared spanner from amazon which I hope will get in there
My only other option is this joint on the pipe itself.
Hi all. I'm in the process of engine removal but one last bolt is preventing me lifting the engine out. The bolt connecting the power steering to the pump. I cant get a 17mm spanner in there. I've tried a crow foot spanner but there is no room.
What tool can get in there? The other option...
Hi - sorry for the multiple threads on this topic but I've performed this before several years ago without issue but this time I'm having issues.
I have a new to me 182 and have bought from Ebay a headunit which I think is compatible. My car had a storage box under the passenger seat which Is...
Hi - I want to put in an OEM head unit into my 2005 Clio 182. My research told me that the Cabasse auditorium was the best unit but the one I bought has different plugs. My harness doesn't have the same plugs.
I also want to retrofit bluetooth using an adaptor into the CD input or aux...
Thanks for the feedback guys. I inspected the timing belt today by removing the engine mount and cover. It looked ok but it's hard to really see. The aux belt was showing signs of cracking so I'm very nervous to drive the car until it's done.
I'm now leaning towards as Bluebeard has said to...
Hi guys, I've recently bought a 182 which I'm intending to do some refreshing of. The belts were last done 10 years ago! so need attention right now. I'm not a mechanic but plan on doing this myself with the genuine tools.
I've also got a slightly crunchy third gear so plan to remove the...
Thanks - I drove it home yesterday, its on winter tyres (though I have Turinis with sticky rubber to fit). The tracking is out and I felt nervous overtaking on B roads. Completely different to my old 182 which had new top mounts and Bilstein B12s. My old car still had a firm ride, but it was...
Hi - I've recently bought a 182 with both cup packs. I've had a couple of Clios before (Trophy & 182) but this is my first standard 182. The car does not ride great, but I'm more used to Bilstein B12s or Sachs so not a fair comparison.
I had a quick look under the car and there are some...
Hi, can anyone help me get a radio code please. I think the number you need is
V122
The other number is 8200367500T but I think the other one is the security code.
Help really appreciated :)
As an update I managed to use the fuse panel and the blue signal wire works from the head unit. The sub powers on and off with the head unit.
The fuse panel fuse slot is a switched live. It's the rear wiper I think.
Still no RCA cable so I can't test it properly yet. I soldered the add a...
The reason I wanted to use the fuse box was;
1) it's easier
2) I saw a post on another forum where the poster had done this and had no issue
3) the amp would have two 10amp fuses in line protecting the amp
4) 150w is not going to happen in my car as I just don't listen to music that loud
5) the...
Thanks - I've never really done a job like this before. I've now installed the sub, run all wiring in a loom to the glovebox area.
I don't have an RCA cable so cannot finish the job. I'm still keen to use the fuse box as it's right there and I can't easily see a grommet to get though.
The...
Based on this thread I now have a kenwood unit ready to fit.
I'm intending to connect to the fuse panel rather than battery.
Any tips on where to run the RCA cable so it won't interfere with the power cable which will run passenger side. I will place it under the passenger seat.
I'm also...
I had my car on CLIP today and checked over. They can find no fault and advise the draw is about right.
We now think me leaving my car unlocked is causing the problem. I had no idea that would cause a higher drain.

I've had my father in law round and with the multimeter we've identified there is a draw of 2.6amp. We've disconnected the alternator and also the starter connection from the battery positive.
All doors are closed and the 5amp interior fuse is removed also. We're unsure on where to go from...
Thanks for the replys so far guys. Really appreciated. I cleaned up the earth from the battery already but will look for the starter earth next.

My car is a third car and due to these problems seeing even less use. I had a problem where occasionally the starter would not fire. It was sporadic but very annoying. Sometime I would be stranded waiting for AA then the car would just start.
I had battery replaced by AA for a new unit...
Could you please post your finding. I've a similar issue which was initially resolved by replacing the pink ignition relay which was causing the starter motor to fail to engage. You could test this by swapping the two pink relays in the fuse box area. However that did not fix my problem as my...
I've got an intermittent problem with my immobiliser. Sometimes the car starts no
Issues. Sometimes it is dead.
When I click the car locked sometimes the car beeps at me but I'm not sure what that means.
I managed to get it to start today after locking and unlocking as much as possible but...
