I want to drop the ride height of my 182 but not too much so it starts scrapping over speed humps etc...
Was thinking 30mm?
What the best springs to go for?
I'm south oxford. Might be able to trace the car I keep seeing in Abingdon. 182 in mondial white stripes and wheels? Also another I followed out of didcot to the a34 the headlights where well bright? Was also mondial but no strpies.
When I bought my 182FF I was told it had the 98RON Map on it?
Is this an RS tuner map and is there anyway of validating it as I have no paperwork for it?
Guys story goes like this. Car was running a bit rough when I picked it up. Done a search and saw that injectors were very common. So checked all 4 and found that Cylinder 4 Injector the actual plug had come away from the injector body. So replaced that and all seemed ok for a while. Now when...
Guys I have got the code using the security number and the bonyx website I've entered it as per the instructions and it doesn't work I've tried it on both the stereo buttons and the stalk?
Any ideas?
My apologies for the banterish style of my post I shall only speak in the Queens English from now on.
I'm in much need of replacements for my perished steering rack gaiters as they have perished and split.
Are they a Renault only part as my local motor factors list an item that is not the...
I'm pretty sure they are the same. Two bolts hold the bottom of the strut to the hub(18mm). Then undo the top but to remove the shock. You'll then have to get the spring compressed in order to change the top mount.
Re-assemble in reverse.
I was aware that cylinder 4 is the cambelt end. I haven't changed the lead but would it not do it all the time not only when hot. I was leaning more towards heat soak of the coilpack?
Guys I've got a small problem where whenever my car is started from cold it runs fine. However when i sometimes start it whilst its still hot it misfires badly for a minute or two and then it is fine again? I've had the codes read and it comes up as cylinder 4 misfire. I have already had all new...
Guys I need an exploded diagram of the front suspension/subframe set up as I want to do a complete refresh on it but want to gather all the bits first so that I can attack it all in one weekend.
Any help appreciated as ever...
Guys has anyone done an underside restoration on a 182? I'm looking at getting a spare frame and rear axle fully poly bushing them etc and then sealing and painting the underside.
Here's a link of my Escort RS Turbo I did a few years back...
I changed the plugs today and was better but still not 100%.
I didn't re-gap the plugs just used them straight from the box they are the correct NGK's.
Would the next port of call be the coil pack?
When the car is at idle or low revs it misses. It has got worse over the past two days. I have bought a new set of NGK Platinums today do we think that will resolve the issue as it clears further up the rev range.
Alright guys bought my first 182 yesterday its a FF BG anthracite Turinis and a few choice mods, question is its a little skitty and feels like its trying to pull to the right not a great deal but enough. also the drivers foot well is wet where could it be coming from?
Cheers
Danny
The clio I'm going to look at has done 100k with 6 service stamps. None detail a cambelt change so I'd like to get it done for piece if mind. If I do buy it who would you guys recommended to do the cambelt change as local to oxford as possible?
I do know about the sale of goods act Daniel.
A car being fit for purpose means it can safely be driven on the road . Do they check the decibel rating of a dephaser pulley on MOTs nowadays?
Satisfactory quality should be assessed taking into account mileage, age and price.
And legally you...
Bit of a hostile response!
I understand perfectly that if a trader sells a car with a fault, that depicts a car not being fit for purpose.
But like i said previously if there are no known faults at the time of sale and the buyer is happy with the car and then 1 week, 1 month, 6 months later...
How is what I'm saying nonsense? If the dealer sells you a car that at the time of sale is fit for purpose and it then develops a fault at a later date how are they now responsible for that fault?
Unfortunately if the dealer has stated it doesn't come with warranty it's classed as a trade sale, meaning if you drive out of his yard and the engine falls out it's your problem. If you wanted a warranty you should of paid for one if possible. Also if you buy a car from a private seller and...
cheers for the comments guys I'm very surprised that nobody has designed a thin plate to block off the cambelt so that if the aux belt does snap it doesn't affect the cambelt.
