Hi,
Currently trying to sell my aftermarket 172 exhaust system (magnex backbox). Does anyone know if this will fit other models of clios (1.2, 1.4 etc) with no problems? I thought that the exhaust systems on non RS clios were different but now think I may be making it up?
Cheers,
Peter
"Ah didnt see you mate or woulda waved ! what car where you in ? wasnt a blue mk1 172 was it ?"
Nah - was in my Silver Mk2 172. Just spotted you as I headed out and "presumed" it was you from the sticker in the rear window.
Surfing the net today and came across advert for "Renault Clio 198bhp" (not sure where they get the extra 1bhp from) for £13,995 at Motor Depot.
Is a bit better than list but still don't know if I would buy one especially as for £1 - £1.5 K more could get a Megane 225 or Import 06 Subaru...
R***ALY - spotted you going past the turnoff for Grangemouth on the M9 at about 8.10 this evening. I was going the opposite direction in the girlfriend's Puma.
Yep - car was a euro import direct from France.
Didn't need to apply for the full warranty Rich_16v as when I went to register the car with Renault UK it was warrantied until December 2006 (3 years after its manufactured date) - bonus!
Thinking of selling my Clio 172 but am not sure what its worth.

Cheers for the advice guys.
Unfortunately I am a total novice when it comes to doing this - what grade of sandpaper should I be using (presume that 2000 or 1500 grit aint coarse enough)?
Is on my second car - someone has tried to spray a bit of the car and it is not a good colour match. Basically want to remove the cr*ppy paint and try re-doing it myself.
OK - so I finally decided to go up to the olds recently to check on my 17" wheels that have been stored in their garage (for about 10 months). The wheels had been hiding up there because I had taken them off the clio when I got a puncture and due to moving house never done anything with them...
Spotted yesterday when I was in the park with the missus. You were about 3 cars behind me driving through the "wild" animal enclosure. Was lowered with 17"s and a cliosport sticker in the side window.
I agree. Done the same myself as was doing about 20K a year in my 172. Bought a cheap BMW 318i Touring (E30) which I use to go to and from work. As I reduced the mileage on the insurance policy on the 172 to 10K, I have both cars insured for the same as it cost for the 172 by itself last year.
