Drove this at Brands on tuesday, first time with the Gripper diff.
Not selling! The car is incredible now. Just needs some new suspension and I think maybe some R888 and it will be even better.
I'm looking to replace my Bilstein B14 as the car is only used on track. I don't think I want to spend AST money, so GAZ and AVO likely options for me.
They will project an agreeable figure with reserve, then hassle you 24 hours before the finish to remove the reserve.
I sold my mint 85k mile 172 cup for £6250 in Jan 2022 from pistonheads after having my time wasted with leads from here. I believe yours is probably slightly under that figure...
Car now sold and gone to a good home.
It was enjoyable to own this lovely little car but lack of use and it not being comfortable were enough to let it go.
With my sights set on a new car, I'm contemplating moving my track car on.
2002 Car, 108,000 miles
I bought the car stock in 2011 at 106,300m
Work carried out in October 2020 - car has done less than 100 miles since.
New Valeo Alternator
New Gripper Diff with correct oil
New Cambelt kit with...
The Clio is now back from Auto Torque where Tomasz carried out the coolant flush and replacement with the Type D variant as recommended.
The level in the photo is a little high, this has since settled to the Max mark.
Oil and filter from the previous visit.
Cheers Dave, see link here...

Perhaps a full flush wasn't carried out. I will get it tested and changed accordingly.

Blimey lads, give me a break! I thought I was doing well completing all of the above jobs, taking some photos and posting them all within the space of a week!
Coolant - yes fine. I can and will have it changed but the photos I posted are of how the car sits today, with only the above jobs...
Hi Alastair. The Cup market is an interesting place. The other cars I looked at when I bought this one were around ~£3000 and were not good examples with poor maintenance history, peeling lacquer, questionable resprays and all over 100k miles. This is why I spent the money on getting this one...
I am also pleased to report that following a charging cycle with a Ctek battery conditioner and following the installation of the replacement airbag squib has resulted in no alarm issues. Coincidental? Maybe, or linked?- possibly.
Despite the desire to keep this car 'forever' and knowing full well that an example in this condition will be very difficult to replace as I have come to terms with the fact that being 6'7" doesn't lend itself well to driving a Clio 172, so I think it's time we part ways sadly.
With the...
Where did 11 months go
I haven't been able to use the car due to other commitments, hence no update here.
The car remains stored inside and I'm actually contemplating selling her to make space.
Thanks for the recommendation.
The guys have refitted the OE shaft today and possibly taken some camber out of the NSF. The problem appears to now be resolved.
Thank you to everyone for their input, I will get a new GKN shaft ordered up and fitted before the car goes out again.

Good to hear. It's interesting to hear that Gripper know a shorter shaft is required but it isn't prescribed upon purchase from their resellers.
I'll see if we can get one tomorrow but I believe ECP are closed and time is limited.

Thanks for the information, this is really valuable. I will measure the new shafts I installed recently and the old worn shafts I removed.
Where is a good supplier for GKN?
Thanks again

Thanks for the feedback all. Would anyone know the difference in length between the shafts? Could a ph2 shift be turned down few mm on the inner?

Evening all.
I recently had a Gripper differential installed into my gearbox. Supplied by Gripper via Pure and installed by a reputable firm.
The gearbox has been refitted to the car by professionals using the correct gear oil.
I've been told the car vibrates quite significantly when turning...
