Hey @DLX - Awesome thread, gave me some great ideas for mine.
Can you remember what colour code you opted for the wheel refurb mate? need to do mine soon :)
Hey @Poonmobile - Yeah man, Leon remembers them being there too.. I suspect they were taken off when some timing belt/pulley work was done and not put back in!
Nightmare, because they're like fricken gold dust to find these days, and expensive as hell if you do
I can make a bee-line and pop...
Legend @DLX , helpful as always mate.
Exhaust - Yeah I heard the KTEC unsilenced one was loud, I'm just looking for a sporty tone. Currently have a standard exahust fitted with a Koby resonator installed on the mid pipe. It's not overly loud, but it certainly sounds interesting. I wonder if the...
Alright legends, another update on the Clio - Piece by piece she's coming together :)
- Roof & Spoiler painted (This was badly damaged by NZ sun, but also was cracking pretty badly too!)
- Headlights restored
- Door Strap Replaced

- Removed front bumper...
Hey @gudger12345, got these this weekend.. whilst doing it it dawned on my that you might be after the brackets that sit above the sill.. in which case, I can still get for you but will be a few weeks when I pull mine off - sorry!
Couldn't see any holes in the sill on the picture you posted...
Hey Gudger
Is it just the height of the rivet holes on the sill you're after? Cars in the bodyshop atm, but happily measure them up when it's back this weekend if no1 else comes through for you before hand mate
Hey man, That's awesome.
Will do my best! Things already progressing quite quickly in terms of parts ordered and plans, just need to be mindful of the impact on the wallet haha, these Clio sports have a nack of doing that to ya!
Joined the NZ Renault sport page, can see that being quite...
Lovely car - As someone who has also just picked up a P1.. I look forward to following this build, it'll no doubt provide me some inspiration :)
My P1 also has the apex springs.. and I spent the weekend researching what I'm going to replace them with.. so this comment made me laugh @PBandA...
Thanks guys, will be quiet on the update front for 2 weeks whilst the car is in the bodyshop getting the roof/spoiler done
@DLX - Read my mind! I have already emailed colourlock to see if they offer the Blue Renault, looks like they don't stock it here in NZ (but do in Aus), but I'll figure...
Great build @KitsonRis, I’m a bit late to the party but enjoyed flicking through all 5 pages mate - lovely work.
Can I ask, earlier in the build you painted the centre console around the stereo, how did you remove it? I need to do mine.. had a look at removing it the other day and looked to be...
Peeling*!!!
Here's a different shot in the sunlight - showing the outcome of the side strips & the mirrors
It's still possible I might return to the black p1 black side strips depending how fussy I am about returning it to OEM, but if I keep these colour codes ones, I may get the door handles...
Update
Drivers seat stitching repaired. As @PP200t mentioned above. Curved needle, strong upholstery thread & some patience and it came out nicely.
Interior clean & shaved the seats, I did use a razer blade first but resulted in using a fabric shaver in the end, just faster and less effort...
That's awesome! Yeah it's got heaps of receipts & paperwork which is fantastic. Just needs some TLC to bring her back to the glory days. (It looks really clean in that picture!)
I'll find and join that NZ RS group on FB too, thanks @DLX you legend
First couple of tasks was to remove the roof racks & replace the steering wheel
Replacing the Steering Wheel
Old SportLine Steering wheel
New Momo Monte Carlo 350 Steering Wheel in leather, I then purchased these cool Renault stickers that follow the same Renault sport logo colour scheme...
Hey guys
Recently returned to ClioSport after 11 years, I live in New Zealand and this is my fun project. This is my 2nd car, my daily is a 2018 Mazda 3 Sp25
Recently purchased this car and given I have heaps of plans have already begun some, I thought I'd start this project build
The plan is...
Like most countries I reckon mate,
Inflation is high, mortgage rates have doubled in 5 years, insurances going up + all the political nonsense.. but, it’s a beautiful place, majority of people are kind, crime rate is lower and the weather is superior to my old home (Weston Super Mare haha!)...
Hey Davo! Hope you’re well
Not many at all mate, officially there is 53 x 2001 Renault clios (all engines) in New Zealand. That doesn’t take into account colour and engines either.
There is a bit of a complex about European cars over here, “they are too expensive to repair” so everything is...
Hey CS team
11 years ago I lived in the UK with a supercharged 182, now I'm living in New Zealand and recently acquired this 2001 P1 172 with 90k miles as a second/toy car. (CS member since 2013)
It's in fairly good shape but needs some TLC, pleased it's fairly original and unmolested though. A...
