Mine was also making creaking sounds when idling, soon as the clutch pedal was pressed the creaking stopped.
You'll find it is the clutch release bearing on its way out! Had mine done last week by Andy Greer at clioturbo and it is fine since.
70mm internal dia, buy an 'ASH' hose.. Seemed to have the right leg lengths either side of the bend to get away with just buying one 90 degree section.

Spending 2200 then spending 600 on getting belts/dephaser etc done isn't stupid at all, its called peace of mind that you know its definitely been done and done by someone with a know-how with these engines which is essential!
No spacers is the last thing you need if its touching there.. My only suggestion is stretch the front tyres ever so slightly? And possibly run Camber adjustable bolts. Though with standard top mounts there won't be much in terms of camber.
